Paid Work / can someone help with this?
« on: February 28, 2016, 05:30:43 pm »
im currently trying to develop a game with my cousin who is doing all the art, but we seem to have bumped nto a problem.....

here is an example of a test level design he created.  the intent is to have this as the level with all platforms able to be walked on or wall jumped.  the problem is.... its one solid picture and not tiles.  how would i go about making this level with buildable tiles so that things can be walked on and have collisions if its all just one picture?

The images I'm using for my sprites are very large so when I put them in stencyl,  they are way too big.  Is there a way to make them scale down smaller and keep the quality

Attached is a picture showing my sprite in comparison to the black block that I want my sprite to be the same size as.

whenever i try to use a background image, no matter how big or small.....when i go to the scene editor it puts the background image on the scene but nowhere near as big as it should be and it doesnt stay put????? in this picture you will see the background item im using stuck in the middle of the scene and if i scroll up and down it follows and wont stay where it should be

I've been blessed to have ceosol helping me with questions I have, but I'm running into an issue I can't seem to figure out...

My game resolution is set to 640x480 for flash game standards.  When I put my background into my scene, it is nowhere near the same size as the play area and when I run to the right far enough eventually my background image just goes away off the left side of the screen???

I don't know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it but I want my background image to be big enough length wise to be a decently sized level so does that mean I need to set my scene size to 640x (much larger number) to give it length? Or keep it 640x480?

Please help if any of that made sense

It's a 2d platformer for mobile and I want it to play similar to super metroid with plenty of space in each scene

What size would you make a scene if it's a metroidvania style game.

Sorry to post but I've looked all over and can't find answers.

1. If I import my background image and intend for it to be the background for the entire level, do I need to do anything other than choose that background to make it stay?  Ex. If player runs far enough or climbs up will the picture follow. As in one scene that is large and the screen follows the actor.  Large levels on one scene

2. for a mobile game, if I select mobile at the beginning is it auto scaled to be phone resolution setting? What dimensions for let's say the play art and terrain are best for mobile?

Thank you

If I have one level made up of multiple scenes and a boss at the end.....after the boss is killed, how can I make it go to a level select screen with now the next level unlocked?

And how would you separate multiple levels?
