I tried installing it earlier today through test flight, but it says the game was removed.

Hi ceosol, yes they reviewed very quickly my update so they also automatically removed the test build.
If you get any chance to update Defendo, give it a try, and let me know if it works better on iPad... I would be grateful!

Thanks a lot! I will add you with great pleasure.
I am already waiting for the review of the update, still in case the betaTest will be accepted quicker I will let you know.

I also got the chance to have it tested on an iPad mini 2 generation, and all seems fine.
The only thing that could be different was that as it is builded iPhone only it has the x1 x2 graphic option.
So it is not full screen by default.

Hopefully with the update will be ok.

Whenever you compile, everything you selected in Xcode gets reset (at least in my experience). You have to make changes in Xcode while it is still compiling and before it gets produced.

If it is meant to be phone only, I won't be able to play it :(

Or maybe you will but this time correctly  :)
What I understood is that the app will be always for iPad even if you choose phone only.
The difference is that if it is phone only it will not show a proper full screen on the iPad.

I believe that this is the problem you are facing (hopefully!).
I will change it to universal, so the x4 graphics will kick in with no strange stretch, maybe after that you can play it without strange bugs.

I will add this in the new update this week.

Just a curiosity, do you have the Facebook/Twitter app installed on the phone? This will help understand which part of the code can be wrong.

I have the Twitter app installed on my phone yes, but not the Facebook app. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for letting me know.
I made some changes and it seems to work now.

What I wanted is that in case you had the Facebook/Twitter app installed then it would open it.
Unfortunately it worked well only on my phone...

Now it will all open in the browser.

@SquarePug I believe I found where I did the mistake with the cropped area, I will fix it with the next update! Just a curiosity, do you have the Facebook/Twitter app installed on the phone? This will help understand which part of the code can be wrong.

@ceosol. Sorry to hear about your trouble with iPad. I must say I am really puzzled. I wanted to make the game iPhone/iPod touch exclusive. The funny thing is that the first build was also for iPad, so I changed the settings to phone only in Xcode, and build it again, When uploading it to apple in iTunes connect they did't ask for any pictures/movies as the metadata did not specify iPad any more. But even without that it went as an iPad game. Did you see any pictures/movies on the app store?
I will try to find a solution to that, still I don't think it will be quick. Thanks again for your feedback!

And here I am back with Defendo.
In the last two months I changed the structure of the game from paid to free, and finally all is working now.

I made sure that the free model was not frustrating because of the ads, and also I had the time to look back to some aspects like the app icon.
One thing that I understood is that the icon was not a very "game icon" because it did not say pretty much anything of the game.
So I want back to all my design and started to make some big changes. Eventually I was really satisfied with nr 16



I also added a new splash screen:



Now I am exporting and sending all to iTunes connect.
Hopefully in the next week it will be eligible for review.

So, Defendo was approved all seemed well and... I took down Defendo from the App Store.
I must say I am very happy with this decision, even if it sounds awkward.

I will now shift the game to a freemium model so it will be available to much more people.
I've taken it down so quickly as I did not want to damage any buyers of the game.

In the future Defendo will be a full experience with adds or you will have the chance to take them down with a price.

yep, for that scene only. That's why I was thinking of a future change...
Still it works for now without issues.

I'm not sure if the check is needed.
If I rush to the button to check GC and I am not logged in iOS will display a notification.
But after logging in all works.

Did you have a possibility to check it on the device?
To tell you the truth I avoided booleans, just made things as simple as possible...

Oh and thanks! Hope now people will like it

Hi all,
I've taken the decision to remove Defendo from sale on the App Store.
I am changing the strategy to a freemium game.

I will be back in some time with the updated version.
Thank you all for your interest in the game.
Maybe in the future I will write more on my lessons learned and why I took such a decision.

Merrak, for now I want to concentrate on the iOS market. I am not sure if I will ever wonder in the Android world, but you know, never say never.

I believe it will work without problems as you said.
I added the code to the stats level with the when drawing behavior.

Now if I look back I would do it differently and add it to the start scene... Oh well maybe I will do it in the next update.

thanks a lot!

It really depends what you are looking for. I did not use this block.
So GC starts in the main menu, then in the stats scene only when the player clicks the Game Center button it will load the defined leaderboard or achievement panel.

Are you looking for something different?
