Ask a Question / Re: Gravity Help

A little quirk with Box2d gravity and actor physics. The  heavier an actors mass, the slower it will fall.  So try reducing the actor's mass considerably.

There is a dress-up game on StencylForge that would probably help with your game. Go to StencylForge from the Stencyl app, select Game from left menu, then find Teaching Demo - dress-up game and download. Good luck.

x of player (left side of player) will always be < x-center of player, so your code for this will run 100 times a second, every second and blocks any other code from running.

To actually see how your collision bounds are positioned, In Stencyl's top  menu and select Run->enable debug drawing.
This shows collision bounds for all  collidable  objects.

The block palette has a search box you can type in name or first part of name  and it will pull them up.

Yeah, it's the same thing, just a name change.  You're in the right place.

Maybe the add event Attributes - number attribute  will work for you?

There is the collision points block that returns the x,y of collision. I believe these are the screen location of the point of collision. That may or may not help you.

In the event tab add an actor - group collision event  and in the  pallet   select collisions and grab left and right  sides collisions blocks and use them like this like this;
when self hits an actor of tiles
     If left side of actor2 was hit or right side of actor2 was hit
            Kill self

so we don't do anything if top was hit.

You can't use the row and column differently, they identify the location of the tile block. The Name:/Id: block is an either/or block,  it and the text field next to it  refers to the name or id number of the layer the tile is in.  If you don't put the right information  in  the text field , the get data from tile block will not find the correct tile and will not return  any data.
