Hey all,

Does anyone know if there is a slack channel for Stencylers? Or some other form of group chat?

For your keyboard inputs, use the event 'Keyboard', that way the game will be listening out for when your users presses the relevant key.

Journals / Emerald Beach 2 - Need Ideas for new traps.
« on: November 13, 2016, 09:38:56 am »
Hey all
I've been working hard on my new game, Emerald Beach 2 and now have the mechanics in place :)
The idea is to collect emeralds by arranging the soil, rocks and wood the moles are digging up to clear them out of the way. You can see it in action here:
https://www.facebook.com/pg/thievingpixels/posts/?ref=page_internal

What I need to think about now are some traps. I already have one that randomly picks an item so you have to pick it up to reveal the content.  The only other trap I can think about is poisoned arrows that slow your movement.

But what else? Can you help me out and suggest some ideas?

Cheers

Chit-Chat / Progressive Web App
« on: November 12, 2016, 05:04:58 am »
I got back from a conference recently where Progressive Web App's was the talk of the town and for good reason!
I notice that Stencyl is now exporting into HTML 5 (albeit in Beta) I wondered, if there was any plans to go down the PWA route and if anyone else had thoughts on the idea?

Ask a Question / Re: Android - Double Tap Issue.
« on: November 09, 2016, 06:08:00 am »
I've managed to get around this, I think it's an issue with tapping regions on Android, not sure why.

What I did was create an actor that replicated the behaviour of the region and this seems to have worked.

It feels as though that's what is happening or something like that. Any ideas what might be causing it?

Ask a Question / Android - Double Tap Issue.
« on: November 07, 2016, 03:26:23 pm »
Hey all,

I have behaviour whereby when a user clicks on the screen, an actor slides into the x position.
I'm doing this at the scene level using regions, it works fine for Flash / HTML but when I run it on Android I have trouble with the actor, it seems to move the actor I have  to double tap the screen in the region in order to move the actor. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Cheers all

Ask a Question / HTML - Accelerometer
« on: October 26, 2016, 06:53:11 am »
Hey all

I've been away for a while, thought I would pop in and see my old pal Stencyl.

Looking at the HTML 5 implementation which is great to see, I do wonder though if there are plans to incorporate accelerometer and if so, when we can expect that?

Ask a Question / Mobile importing assets.
« on: January 15, 2015, 12:43:28 pm »
Hey all,

I'm a bit confused about importing assets for mobile,  I've had a good old bounce around the forum for the answer but I'm failing.
I've created a mobile game at the suggest 320 x 480 resolution and produced my asset's at the same scale.
Now I want to import the high-res images but it doesn't appear to be working. I've exported all my assets at 4 times the original resolution so my cubes which were 70 px are now exported at 280 px. In Stencyl I have accessed the Preferences and set 'Scale' to  4x and also in Settings - Mobile ticked 1.5x, 2x, 3x and 4x. Now when I imported my assets, they are coming in at 280 (which is clearly much larger than Im expecting as my scene is only 320. Either way, I thought I would test on device and of course the assets are at 280...

Am I missing another option somewhere, have I missed a step?

Thanks in advanced.

Ask a Question / How does Stencyl decide?
« on: January 05, 2015, 11:35:05 pm »
If I have two square objects with the same dimensions, same collision group and same speed traveling at each other, how does Stencyl decide which object collided first?

The reason I ask is I think this is the cause of an issue I'm having, the behavior isn't consistent and I think it's because the object I expect to be collided first, defined as ' '1st Actor' hit a copy of 'object' ' isn't happen. I could well be wrong so any pointers would be great.

Game Art / Coming Soon!

A little poster I made to promote my upcoming game.

Fixed it by using the 'Clean Project' function in the 'Run' options.

Cheers

When attempting to run my game on  a physical Android device, I get the "compiling" message then it vanishes, the game icon isnt on my phone. When looking at the logs there are a number of failures around the appBillingService and billing processor...
Not sure what it's banging on about, can anyone help please?
