I use Anime Studio Pro 8 for animations and Xara Photo & Graphic designer 2013 for vector illustration.

Resolved Questions / Animation manager (Solved)
« on: June 28, 2012, 07:53:02 am »
Hi everyone!

I am playing around with the Platformer template available with Stencyl to learn more about the software. The main actor (Player) comes with many behaviors like Jumping, Falling, Running, etc....

Since the game only displays two animation for the character (right and left), I would like to expend this by adding a falling animation, a jumping one, etc....

To do so, I have created placeholders for each animation, then I have loaded these animations in "Appearance/Animations".

Then, I have associated each behavior with its animation (the jumping behavior with the jumping animation etc....). However, nothing seems to have changed.

My guess is the "Animation manager" and its Category Hierarchy is causing problems, but I am not sure what went wrong.....

Any ideas?

Thanks! :)

Thanks Kajitii!

... but still trying to figure out which one can be used to do so.

I might try using another goal instead! :)

Thanks! :)

Ask a Question / No more actor onscreen.....
« on: June 27, 2012, 08:59:03 am »
Hi everyone!

I want to implement a simple event so that when no more actor x is onscreen, the level is done and player can move on to the next level....

I presume I must create an event in my level, but I don't see anything in the actor's palette that could help me create this basic operation....

Thanks!

Resolved Questions / Simple scene transition (Solved)
« on: June 15, 2012, 07:59:54 am »

------ Thanks for the help! Problem solved! ------

Hi everyone!

I am in the process of learning Stencyl and would like to create a simple transition from one scene to another. Basically, I have create an actor which is the goal and when the player is touching this goal, the game must move towards the next level.

I am using the "Drop Block Game" template, but I have removed the goal that was available since I want my goal to be mobile.

I know how to create a transition from one scene to another specific scene, but would like to have a code to just tell Stencyl to move one level up each time the goal is reached.

Thansk!

Martin :)

PS: Please keep in mind that I am new at this. :)
