Ask a Question / Buying wearable items with in-game coins
« on: July 28, 2012, 01:45:12 pm »
For my game, I'm trying to create a store where the player can buy wearable items collected throughout the levels. I've looked through some forum posts asking similar questions, but can't seem to find a solution that works for me. Anyways, this is what I have so far:

There are three price tiers that I've put into attributes (Bronze = 500 coins, Silver = 1000 coins, Gold = 2500 coins). Of all the items I have, their price is one of these three. Because I have three different price tiers, I also created three actor behaviors (the items are going to be actors rather than regions) for each price. I plan to attach the bronze, silver, or gold behavior to each actor depending on the price.

What I have so far for the behavior is attached below. What I need help with is how to make the main actor wear the bought item after purchase, and how to switch between bought clothes by clicking on the same spot where the wearable is bought without buying the wearable again (my game doesn't have an inventory for the player). If my explanation is not clear, please ask me to clarify...

Any help is greatly appreciated!  :)

Ask a Question / Music On/Off Button
« on: July 27, 2012, 09:46:08 am »
Hi, I'm fairly new at Stencyl, and I've been having trouble with putting in a music button that toggles the background music on/off in my game. I used SunriseKingdom's tutorial to make an actor and attach a music behavior ( and it works fine, but the background music is always set at 'off' and I have to toggle the button to turn it on. I've been working on trying to make the music be 'on' as a default, but to no avail.

In the attached picture, what's in the red circle is what I tried adding to the original behavior to try to make the music 'on' the default.

Any help on this is appreciated!  :)
