Warzone I agree with photon, like your puzzle tower defense game it's a great idea and has tons of potential and if it was really polished looking, had a nice art style, good music, multiple modes and leader boards it could probably get a ton of downloads.

Speaking of which I think I talked to you about leader boards before and someone told me about some really good options for android games on one of the last pages of the "3.0 release" discussion I can find it for you if you want me to/ cant find it your self.
i dont have a tower defense game?

and photon, i will definatly take your advice, i do rush though most to quickly. i for some reason couldnt fix the multiplying glitch? any suggestions how to?

I am very sorry warzone I mistook you for someone else

I see it seems to take a while to gain enough money for upgrades and to get fuel, maybe think of more elements to create combos of some sort to speed this up.

Its my first one so it's still new to me, that being said I absolutely love it. I just discovered the extra modes, they are solo or co-op missions you can play where there is a time limit. You see how much fruit and things you can collect before the time runs out. Then you are given a rank on an online leader board. Trying to perfect a strategy with a time limit is pretty damn fun.

Most people seem to have issues with lack of big changes from previous games in the franchise and controls. I am on my 15th day and I just converted from using just the gamepad to using both the gamepad and the wiimote and nunchuck combo. It's kind of a double edged sword because I like using  solely the gamepad for quick access to the map (which allows you to see where lost pikmin are and task 1 of your 3 players to go somewhere and do something in which the game pauses) but using the wiimote and nunchuck make it a little more complicated to access the map but precision for aiming pikmin is greatly increased.

lol well I tried 'set swapplayer' to 0 and that didnt help either. It's been working fine so far after I made a new event (fingers crossed). But I have same code for three 'as&f' and they work fine.

Also I am aware I am not supposed to see 14 but when it stops working it stays at 7 and does not reset to 0.

A little insight I have set numbers to trigger events to select between multiple actors in my scene. It has actually worked extremely well when I don't run into this issue its very fast and efficient.

Like I said it's working fine now and I know how to fix it if it messes up, I am just extremely curious to why?! Learn from my own, or stencyls, mistakes you could say.

Does clear value permanently clear the value?
Maybe try set value to 0 instead?
I've never used clear value so not sure how it works but is just a thought.

Also, you never will see the 14 because it is cleared before it can be
shown upon the screen.

I'm a bit confused as to what you are trying to do so <shrugs>.  :-\

Someone else had mention that but I have the actors and regions they are in scaled the same size and spaced out. The main reason I dont think this is the issue is because I have the number attribute 'swapplayer' draw on the screen and whats happening when I press 'D' it increments 7 to 'swapplayer' and then stops. I'll continue to push 'D' and the number wont change from 7

Ask a Question / Help with behavior (possible stencyl bug)?
« on: August 16, 2013, 08:58:15 am »
I am trying to figure out if this is an issue with Stencyl or my behavior somewhere.

I have four keyboard inputs that choose characters (asd & f) and the behavior for 'd' will work fine for a dozen game tests and then randomly it will stop working. It will work once and then stop to be precise. After it stops working if I make a new input event and copy and paste the palletes in to the new event it starts working fine again.

Originally I had keyboard input and mouse input to select the characters but I was using 'Always' events for the mouse inputs (a lot of them) and those randomly stopped working when I was adding keyboard support so I got rid of all of them.

Anyways the picture shows my behavior, if anyone has any idea of why this is happening and a possible solution I would be extremely grateful, I just want to make sure I have a stable build!

I deleted the event and copied the palletes to a new one and it fixed the issue. I am hoping this doesnt keep happening

Does anyone know why this happened?

So I am still having issues and I it seems like it is coming from the number attribute but I dont understand why?

I searched high and low and dont see anything I have wrong, but the picture below shows my issue. After pressing the 'D' key it adds 7 only once. I was having similar issues when I was using the 'always' too.

I have the same behavior with different numbers for the 'A' key and 'S' key and they work perfectly.

Any ideas?

Do you think I should change the 'clear value of swapplayer' to 'set swapplayer to 0'?

Hey thanks you did end up helping me in the long run, I changed all of the always blocks to input ones and it seems to be working pretty well!

Just have to redo a bunch of things. :-/

From what it looks like. If you have multiple actors in that region and you only click on one it tries to set your actor 1 attribute to all the actors inside that region.

Also it looks like you're trying to set actors based on clicking.

Here is something I made that should work if used right. This is a actor behavior not a scene.

Place this inside all actors that can be switched. If your text attribute = your actor that is what is your current actor is.

Thank you very much for the help/ suggestion. The code I used is to distinguish which actor is being clicked out of other similar actors. It might become difficult to distinguish what actor is being selected if it were to be attached to the actor.

Btw I make it so only one actor is in a region at a time.

I did have the code working perfectly before I was just wondering if anyone had experiences similar bugs as I was.

Also, how do you distinguish the region in your behavior?

So I am not sure what happened but behaviors I have made just stopped working. It seemed anything with my number attribute and or regions in my behavior suddenly stopped working. Each time I tested my game it seemed to do something different very random.

Amyways I tried rebuilding the behavior completely and it seemed to start working again, do you guys have any idea on what might have happened?

In addition to the behavior below I had other ones like it and also an always behavior that said 'when swapplayer -> 2 to clear value of swapplayer but at first swapplayer would just continue to increase then eventually it stopped working all together.

If it help at all I was trying to add key inputs to also do the behavior below when I started having issues.
