Yeah, that would be more precise.

Archives / Middle Mouse + Drag to scroll in scene designer/behaviour editor
« on: February 13, 2012, 02:52:03 pm »
I do this in webpages a lot to scroll to the side (and because my mouse wheel is broken).
Is less important in the behavior editor, because there's less need to scroll sideways.

Put the "get enemy health" block in an "as number" block. This is a bug either way, though.

There should be a version on StencylForge for 1.3+.
Make sure that you only call that custom block if the actor has Label for iOS attached to it or a variant.

e:when-creating?

Is that behavior a modified "Label For iOS"? Is the custom block even being called? (events bug?) Put a print statement in the wrapper for the Set text to custom block, see if it prints.

Are you sure that the label is "self"? I'm not sure of what else could cause this.

Try with a normal attribute, to see if this is a bug.

Oh, you need to re-set the label's text every time the value is changed.

Have you set the font for the label? Are you testing in flash?

Right now the universal build only uses the 1x images. With the "do only on iPad" blocks you can make a special condition for iPad to use a different set of animations/scenes/behaviors, though.

Currently, yes. In the future there will be a 2x mode for iPad that will use the retina graphics.

The 2x counterpart is only used on iPhone 4. It won't be loaded into memory on iPad or iPhone 3GS, but I'm not sure if the game still packages it. They're generated just in case you want to make the app work on iPhone.

That's odd, I use reloads all the time in my game and a lot of things are done when created. Are you sure that there's not a game attribute that isn't being reset when you reload the scene (that the code needs to be true to function)?

Note that the when created sections of multiple behaviors can load before and after each other, but always in the same order. Potentially in the way that every second time you load a scene, a game attribute is still "false".

Ask a Question / Re: how to do disappear block when died

You have to edit the behavior for losing a life to, instead of reloading the scene, create a new ball somewhere on the playing field. It should be attached to the ball.

Most applications you use are coded in C. Most games you play are coded in C (even indie games, how about that)

C is not evil.
