Ask a Question / Looking for iOS testers. (Takes 5 mins).

Hey guys and gals,

I am getting into the testing phase of my game. I am looking for iOS testers.  I do not have a tester for:

iPodTouch 5th Gen,
iPodTouch 6th Gen,
iPad 2,
iPad 3rd Gen,
iPad 4th Gen,
iPad Air,
iPad Air 2,
iPad Mini 1,
iPad Mini 2,
iPad Mini 3,
iPad Mini 4.

I am curious as to if anybody would want to help me test it, provide feedback, criticism, offer suggestions and/or help with anything that you feel needs improvement.

If you have any of the above devices, and would like to help me test, please let me know.  I can have it on your device in the next 5 minuets.  All that is needed from you is to download the Application "Test Flight".  Then I also need an email address that you can open from that device.  Ill send you the build, You accept it in the email, it will immediately take you to test flight where the app will begin to download.  Easy as that!

Suggestion Archives / Possible to test on multiple devices with one click?

Curious as to if it would be possible to have both an android and and iOS device connected, click test game, and have it send to both.  Or even just 2 iOS devices?  If so, that would be a pretty useful and timesaving feature.

I have it working in flash.  When I try on Android or iOS, no matter what scene, big or small dialog, etc, It always crashes the app about 2-3 sentences into the dialog.  If I try only a few words, it completes the sentence then when I click the enter button to move on, it will crash. 

Anybody else getting this? or do I have a problem somewhere?

Im making a game, (See footer/game journal for more info on it).  But As the art is coming in, I am having trouble naming these cute little guys.  Take a look and throw out some suggestions!

So far, suggestions have only been given on a few characters.... I need your help guys! O and BTW, If I choose the name you suggest for any character, You will be in the credits of the game (Of course after you've given me permission) on all flash, iOS, and Android Versions!

Hey guys.  I'm working on a game that uses the run and jump kit provided by the Stencyl kits.  I am having trouble modifying it to allow for double jumps off of walls, and wall slides.  What I want to happen is exactly how drumcowski explained:

"We currently have the double jump working fine, but when you wall slide and jump off of the wall it doesn't let you do a double jump. We need the player to be able to do the double jump once after either jumping off of the ground or jumping off of a wall. Each time the player lands on the ground or another wall, it should re-allow the player to jump and then double jump."

There was no good answer.

I have tried to modify it by changing the onGround? boolean when the actor touches the right/left side of a tile. All this really did was mess up wall sliding, and still did not allow for a 2nd jump off the wall.  Any help would be awesome trying to figure this out. Game Journal

     This is my first time doing a game journal but hopefully not my last!  Ive read multiple times from developers that keeping a journal helps to keep them on track and meet deadlines that otherwise would be hard to stick to.  Since I am having that problem myself, I figure ill give it a try!

     The idea behind the game is simple.  There are 9-10 levels. Get to the end of each level without falling in the pits, or landing on the bad obstacles. (Spikes, saws, etc).  As the main character, you will progress through the levels, and along the way you will acquire advice/abilities from a few helpful friends. Though there will be a set way to beat each level, there will be hidden passages and routes that are not very apparent unless your looking! By the 10th and final level, you will have learned all the abilities to catch up to and put a stop the the main nemesis.... If you can. 

Abilities Gained

Level One- You will Learn Tap to jump short, Press to jump Farther, Hold to jump Farthest.
Level Two- You will Learn Wall Slide.
Level Three- You will Learn Wall Jump.
Level Four- You will Learn Double Jump.
Level Five- You will Learn Double Jump Off Walls.
 Level Six- You will Learn Triple Jump.
Level Seven- You will Learn To Glide.
Level Eight- You will Learn to Blast.
Level Nine- - Nothing.. You have no wings to fly =P





Monetization Strategy :

Advertisements **AND**  In-app Purchases

I've decided how the game will attempt to generate revenue...
      Since you cannot move on to the next level without beating the previous level, I will allow users who have not yet beat a level, to buy a key, and unlock only the NEXT level.  I didn't want to make this 0.99$, but its the lowest possible price in the App store pricing. 

Also, I will be including an ADMOB ad every 5  deaths and retries at the same level.
  - To add to this, I will also be including a remove ad's button in the settings menu.
        -1.99 to remove ads?


Hey everybody!  This section is new, and something that Im going to experiment talking about.  The budget for this game.

So all of the programming, level design, concepts, and story were done by myself.  Although this is a cost, (Time), I will not be considering this as an expense.

This is just keeping track of a running total for money spent for help while working on the game.  This is for things such as post help, extension help, suggestions, and to help other developers good causes.

This section is what I am currently doing.  Now that the app is accepted and ready to publish. (November 27th), Its time to start marketing.  Below are app review sites, including quick reach emails. (Some can only be done on their websites.)  Some are also paid... Which I haven't jumped at one yet. (They offers tons of unique deals.  Looking for best ones).

This list took about 6 hours so far of searching and navigating.  I am hoping it will save whoever uses it a ton of time.  I know its going to help with my future games, (which is why I am taking the time to make it).

    I just upgraded to the latest private release. (8376).  Upon cleaning and running my project, all text that I am drawing onscreen is showing up with a bunch on nonsense.  For example, the attached image is suppose to read (54%) But as you can see, that is not what it is showing.  Any help would be appreciated.  This happened on the very first run of the new build!

*Another quick note.  Every time I run the game, this string of text gets longer and longer, eventually streching the whole length of the screen.... And Id assume it keeps going?

Hey Guys,

Ive made this game in the last 4 or so days.  It is a one button style game.  You tap to jump, tap longer to jump longer, hold to jump max distance.  There are only 3 levels so far but I am going to be quite busy with stuff between now and May 11th, So I just called it done for now.  It can be played here while its under judgment.

Hey guys, here is a project that I've been working on the past few days.  Will be out for android and iOS when I can get the joystick bug fixed.  Just looking for feedback and suggestions as this is the first workable and playable model I have for it.  You time and opinions are appreciated GREATLY!

No walls mode, (Need to figure out how arrows can point to beez off the screen)

Completed / HUD improvement suggestion

I think it would help tremendously if when you open scenes, actor behaviors, tile sets, actors, etc.. In the top menu bar where all of the tabs are, if they were simply color coded for easily finding the correct tab.  I name things like Camera, and camera, for behavior and actor but then get confused as to which is which in the tabs.  I don't know, just a suggestion, I think it would help!

AdMob / What is correct admob pub-Id

Curious as to what is the correct usage for the admob Publisher ID.  I filled out the information and received my key. (pub-XXXXXXXXXX).  When I enter it into stencyl, do I need to include the "pub-" part? or just the numbers?  Ive tried both ways and a ad does not come up. (Yes I am using the Show ad Block).  Any help on this topic would be appreciated.

Hey guys, im working on a fun little game for the mobile markets, But I am at the point where I need to think of world ideas. I have narrowed it down to earth themes.  I would like some help thinking of some cool themes... a few friends named waterfall, jungle, mountains, windy, snowy etc.... Im looking for 10, It would be awesome if I could get some ideas from you guys... (Will give credit in game for the help if I choose some of yours).

I am looking for a wind behavior/example.  Would like to have wind gust blowing side to side / up and down throughout my game.  curious as to if anybody had one that could guide me or if I should just try and make one.

Hey guys, working on adding some weather elements to my game, I found the snow example on the forge and it is great! I modified the images a little to get a little bit more realistic snow flakes but overall it is fantastic.

 Now im curious as to if anybody has messed around with a raining effect? I have my water working fine, as well as the splash that raindrops would simulate on it, but I cannot seem to get the rain effect down.

 Also before anybody tells me that it is the same logic that is used with the snow example, I have tried altering it a few ways and all I do is cause lag.  Any suggestions or examples would be awesome!

Ask a Question / Realistic Water Surface (Hows it work?)

In the stencylForge there is a scene behavior called "Realistic Water Surface".  I have watched a few demos that show this behavior being used, but I cannot seem to get it to work for myself.  Am i suppose to be adding to all the lists? If so what do I add? I tried putting in values to the height and position lists but nothing was happening.  If anybody knows how to use this behavior please let me know! Thanks a ton!
