Ask a Question / Freehand Scroll behavior (Dont do over actor type!)

Hey guys, I am working on a game of mine and just today I added a freehand scroll behavior so the user can check out the level before s/he starts the round.  It is working just how I had visioned it would!  One problem though... When the user clicks on a block to delete it, the freehand scroll behavior centers the camera.  Is there any way that I can have the scroll behavior work only when the user clicks not on an actor.  (Enemy Type).  So basically the user can scroll the screen by clicking and dragging as long as the initial click is not over a actor of type enemy.

Ill post a picture of the code I have for the scroll.  If you do not understand my question please let me know and ill try to clear it up for you.  Thank you for your time and thanks a ton for any responses!

Hey guys,

     I created this game over the last week or so, I hope to greatly improve it, any comments and/or suggestions are encouraged.  Whether good or bad, I would love to get your feedback. A quick run through of the game is below:

    How to Play:
There is a section in game that explains this, but I've gotten some feedback that its not quite clear, I'll be fixing this.  But the object of the game is to click the opposite color in each row, advancing far and fast.  There are 3 modes:

Infinite Mode:
     The first called infinite run, you will start with 10 seconds on the clock. Every twenty spaces you run you will receive 10 more seconds. Be fast though, if the clock hits zero, you will lose.  Also if you click on the wrong space you will also lose.  Its about speed and precision!

Fast50:
     The second mode, Fast 50, you need to get through 50 spaces as fast as possible.  Your lowest time will be saved.  Quickness and accuracy is everything!

100 Dash:
     The third mode, 100 Dash, you do the EXACT same thing as Fast50, just a longer run this time. 100 spaces, 100 more chances to make a mistake!

Ask a Question / Anyone have a premade highscore behaivor?

Just curious as to if anyone has a high score behavior that they wouldn't mind sharing.  There is not one on the forge, (Or at least i could not find it), and it think it would be beneficial to everyone on stencyl, as i know many people would like to have their own high score list separate from Game Center or whatever platform they are working on.  Thank you in advance for your responses.

Hey everyone, just here to share a link to my first game called PengWin.  Below I have attached links to both newground and stencyl.  Warning Now:  The game is HARD.  All levels are possible, but they get pretty hard.  Good luck to anyone playing it, and PLEASE PLEASE leave me some feedback and you high scores ;).  Also, first person to complete all the level, post a picture! Ask a Question / How can I add time only once?

I am working on a game, in it I would like to add a time to my countdown timer if the users score is mod 20... Or remainder of 0 after dividing by 20.  Below is the code that I have doing so.  It works, the only problem is, it keeps adding the time again and again until the users score is no longer mod 20.  So if the user stays at a score that mod 20 is 0, the time goes up very rapidly.  What I would like to happen is for it to add the time only once, then not again until the score is the next available number mod 20.  So for example, if the user score is 20, the time will get added once, then it will not be added again until the user is at 40.. then 60.. then 80.. and so on.  Ive tried several approaches to this using booleans, triggers, XOR, NAND, etc... If somebody has a solution to this I would be extremely grateful to know how.  Thanks!

Hey guys, this was my first game... I dont quite have all the final tweaks done to it yet, but I ran into time issues being a full time student, working, and with the contest ending today... But  Its still playable and VERY hard.   So hope to get some comments and reviews about it.  Thanks everyone for the support and good luck to everyone else in the contest.

I am just curios as to if anyone knows of a way to copy and paste actors/tiles from scene to scene without losing there ratios from one another?  This would be an awesome feature if there is no way to do it as of now.  Thanks for your replies!

Ask a Question / Reverse Jump / Dive algorithm help!

Hey guys, I am trying to make a behavior so that I can continue to dive, like opposite of a jump. But the actor doesn't have to be touching a block to do so. Almost like an infinite double jump, but upside down haha. I am not quite sure how to explain it another way.  I want to set the gravity to 85 up, then have the character be able stand on the ceiling and jump, but continue jumping until he is off the bottom of the screen.  Any help would be awesome, an algorithm screenshot or link to an existing behavior would be best!

I am trying to get stencyl to work with the iOS simulator before I upgrade to pro.  I do not want to waste the time and money to upgrade if I cannot get the iOS simulator to work.  At first I figured that I was doing something wrong within the code in my game so I downloaded a game made specifically for iOS and the same problem, it tells me that the SDK is not installed and to post my logs to the forums.  My SDK is installed though and is working when using Xcode. Ive attached my logs, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to create a end scene popover menu.  Based on what happened in the scene, the game will fade the screen a little (Using opacity) then award a star count based on  the player performance within the given scene.  If you need to know more about what im talking about, check out the catapult kit.  When the user wins the scene, its pops over, awards points, then the user clicks to transition to the next scene.  I checked out the code for theirs, but they have everything within one behavior.   Does anyone know of a simple algorithm to accomplish this? or is there one out there that is used commonly among developers here on stencyl?

Any help or responses are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Ask a Question / How to save level awards?

I have a game that you can receive either one two or three stars based on level performance.  In order to save each individual level star count received, do I have to make a game attribute for each scene and save them all? or Is there something else i can do that will make this task not so extensive?

If your having a hard time visualizing what I mean, take say angry bird for example, each level you can receive different star amount, then when you go back and play a level your old star amount is shown and you have an opportunity to beat it?

Any help on this topic would be great!

I am stuck!

What I am trying to do is to have individual star counts per level based on player performance.  (1-2-3 star awards.)  This will be based on what region the player reaches.  I know how to award the stars but keeping track of it all is throwing me problems.  First lets say a player plays level 2 and receives 1 star for their performance.  Then at a later time, s/he returns to the level and gets a 2 star. I would like the star count for that specific scene to update to two stars, while only adding 1 star ( The one extra s/he got this time) to the totalStarCount. 

Also, I would like to display the star count above each level on the select screen.  I am not sure if I should do these with triggers/events/attributes/gameattributes... honestly I am stuck. Any help would be appreciated. Screen shots of code or algorithms would be amazing, but just explaining it would be helpful too... I can make it if need be.

Hello everyone!

  What i am trying to do is to have the scene transition based on what platform the actor lands on, awarding a star value for each platform.  The only problem is that in order to get to a higher stared platform, the actor sometimes comes in contact with a region from a lesser started region before entering the higher stared region.  This caused the player to be awarded a lower start count than they actually achieved.  So what I would like to do is code something like, if the actor is in the region for greater than 3 seconds, then trigger the region and transition. Only problem is, I am not quite sure how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.  Below is the current code I have. 

ps: this needs to be a time block! Im sure others would use this as well!
Also, if its in the forge please point it out! I have looked in quite a few places for something like it.

Paid Work / Radial Gravity Simulation

I am working on a game that will use radial gravity.  I have googled this subject in several languages, but an not quite sure how to implement it using stencyl.  A good starting place is http://www.emanueleferonato.com/2012/03/28/simulate-radial-gravity-also-know-as-planet-gravity-with-box2d-as-seen-on-angry-birds-space/

This does help me visualize the concept and shows some ios code, but I still not sure how to implement it.  Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
