I'm wondering if I should make it a little easier of a game? My high scores are usually in the 40's or 50's. What are you guys getting when you play for a score?

I attempted many different types of gravity and force motions on the upward movement of the main character. I kept the upwards force strong because when I made it less forceful the game was way too easy. could easily get over 50 towards 100 points pretty often.

Thanks for the input!

Ask a Question / No backround sound on main screen? how to fix?
« on: March 14, 2014, 06:52:09 am »
Back round  music is in photo. Code is the one in the middle. This is set on my main screen when the game is first loaded. The back round music plays in every scene except the main screen which is the first one. How do I switch this to get the sound to play on the main screen? Also I just figured out of to create a point system and display it on screen. How do I go about creating a high score box that will display the users all time high score even after they leave the game and come back to it?

"Like an object"  It doesn't matter if something is inanimate or alive, they're both considered actors.

If you know when they're going off screen, and then killing them, right before the killing code block put a "increment var by #" block.  Or whatever you like using to increase a score.

(NoFaceEntertainment, that only explains the very basics of having a score, but I don't think that collisions can be used anywhere in this specific function of the code.)

If I do that.... How do I display the score somewhere?

Resolved Questions / How to create a point system?(Solved!)
« on: March 13, 2014, 08:40:25 am »
I want to create a point system that adds 1 point every time something leaves the screen. Like an object or an actor. I scanned through the code for something along the lines of that but couldn't find anything. Can someone please explain or show what code I need to put in?

The reason I have two layers is 1 for everything on the screen. The second layer is the restart Letters that show up. They are a hidden layer while playing and then when the character dies the layer becomes unhidden to tell the player to press enter to restart the game. That is how I learned it in a tutorial on youtube.

As for the blocks I will add that in there now. Thank you!

Middle caused the blocks to not be visible the first time round but they still hit my character and killed him. once contact was made the blocks were visible. They were still not there second time around. Front was the same result as middle.
