Ask a Question / Re: How to make my hero to climb ?
« on: September 16, 2014, 10:14:37 pm »
The red square represent the different size of actor pixel size. The walking or another "normal" animation should be different from climbing animation, because the difference of the ground and also because climbing is actually transition animation from low level ground to high level ground, am i correct?

If the actor allowed to have different pixel size, another question from me is how to perform the action from :

"normal" animation > climbing animation >???> "normal" animation again (because of the ground level differences).

hmm... but i still can't figure out the logic behind it. The climbing animation should be different actor i think (or not)... or maybe just different animation on single actor. Another question arise, can one actor allowed to contains different animation with different pixel size?

Unless someone give me the clue to the right direction, i think i'm gonna stick with platformer kit for now :(

It's like prince of persia or flashback in the 80's... How do you suggest to do this in stencyl? there is a platformer kit but it only works for jumping.

Hi Zukile, inside your Home folder in Ubuntu, Stencyl created own folder called "stencylworks". Inside of that there is another folder called "android-sdk"

Now my problem is that the "android-sdk" folder has a lock icon on it. Means that only root/administrator can access the folder. It makes Stencyl cannot use "android-sdk". If you use sudo command to install android-setup.sh then my step as i mentioned above will allows regular user aka Stencyl to access and use it.

Here's how to do it: open the terminal > go to stencylworks folder (cd stencylworks/) > sudo chown -R myusername:myusernamegroup android-sdk/

That's is, just make sure you change myusername and myusernamegroup similar to what you have. I hope it helps

So to summarize, it is obvious that after fresh install, Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit is missing some of the important packages that essentially needed for Stencyl, and this command will help you to bring them back (at least for my ubuntu) :

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install lib32stdc++6 xorg-dev build-essential
I hope someone with the same problem find it usefull :)

sudo apt-get install xorg-dev

However the problem still occur when i test it in android, Stencyl just can't build it (BUILD FAILED it says). The log is in attachment. Thank you folks, this is getting better :)

It seems that Ubuntu 14.04 has different packages than 12.04 :(

Letmethink thanks for your help. I start from your finding and using this command after googling:

sudo apt-get install build-essential

Now i come up with another error :
[LOG] AL lib: (EE) alc_cleanup: 1 device not closed

I attach the log for it. What do you think?

I am getting frustrated here. Since i upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit (fresh install) the Stencyl won't test my game, both in Linux or Android (but it's working on flash...). I attach the log for anyone who willing to help me..
