Hi, I know I havent responded to this thread in a while but just some feedback: the attached behavior only seemed to shooting 'up' even after being configured.

Cheers

Ah! Great, thank you!!

Side Note:
I had to remove the older 'Fire Bullet' behavior from my game in the Actor Behavior section of my game, that is to say, the import didn't overwrite by default.

Cheers

UPDATE: looks like it didn't like the Animations checks, heres the output. For the record, i've created/named some animations to match the behaviors requirements.

Ask a Question / SOLVED: direction problems on "fire bullet" behavior
« on: December 31, 2012, 07:07:23 am »
Hi,

I tried this out recently with the same results. Cptaincomic; when you mention the next update, are you referring to Stencyl 3.0?

Also, if I were to attempt to put the check you mention in to a behavior myself, where would it go?

Thanks

Thanks!

Can you explain why my logic was flawed? Shouldn't the 'does not repeat' button work in relation to what I'm trying to do?

Guys, Thank You So Much!

This was all I needed! thank you.

After following this info, I managed to pick out a couple of things that I was doing incorrectly (tile collision was something I was forgetting about mainly).

Thanks again!

thank you for the suggestion Xeitao but is there somewhere that I can learn how to actually use the pack? Even a quick list of to-dos?

This is quite embarrassing but i just can get any of the kits to work on my own!

Ask a Question / Re: Help with ladder regions behavior?
« on: April 28, 2012, 10:03:28 am »
:) thanks but i was actually referring to the mechanism that allows the region to be named:

i.e. after defining the region box in the scene editor, can i right-click on it to name it or is there somewhere where i can edit the properties of the region thats been defined?

Thanks

Ask a Question / Ladder Tutorial

Hi Guys,

So i've been through pages and pages of stuff trying to find a straight forward tutorial explaining how to deploy ladders, i've downloaded a bunch of prefab behaviours/actors etc. and have tried to write my own from scratch using basic logic and hints from the forums but i just can't figure it.

Are there any blog posts or video tutorials that cover this? It's doing my head it!

Cheers

News / Re: Stencyl 2.0 Beta (Updated Apr 4th)

Hi,

I just pulled down the latest nightly build from here: http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,3874.0.html but still can't see the behaviours when i try to add them to an actor. I'm running on OSX and not seeing any of the newly 'built in' behaviours at all.

Well.. after a good few hours i managed to fix the issue! The problem is i'm not sure what it was that was causing the problem (sorry for anyone facing similar symptoms).

I think that i fixed it after rolling back as many behaviours as i could (i.e. i started getting rid of stuff i didn't think i needed) and at some point i removed a behaviour and tested to find that everything worked!

Well, almost, i still found that the 'Fire Bullet' behaviour from the action pack didn't fire both wasys but i ended up building my own behaviour using the ones from the action pack and some other snippets by other people on the forum (thanks for posting your code up!)

Anyway, coleislazy; thanks for your pointers, i can't help but feel that they put me in the right direction, thanks.
