Friction is set to zero. It shouldn't matter though, since the pieces are all set to the "Doodads" collision type; as well as there is nothing else in the scene. They are capable of being affected by gravity, but there is no gravity in the scene.

It's just supposed to be a dynamic scarf. I'd post a .gif of the problem, but I'm not quite sure how. Never needed to yet.

Okay, that worked.

What I'm doing now is jointing all the pieces together, and jointing the first one to the player. All the pieces speeds are being set to zero to prevent them from doing a full on dance party.

When the player moves in a single direction for too long, the front piece and the back pieces get seperated. They come back together when the player changes direction, though.

Any idea on how to fix this?

How would one go about getting something to behave like the ribbon on the spear in this gif?: https://giant.gfycat.com/GrayVainArgali.gif

I tried using the Follow Target behavior on a whole bunch of little pieces, all of which followed the piece in front of them, but it didn't really work. It also doesn't make it very easy to add effects to it like being blown in the wind and whatnot.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Just a random question.

With Flash dying out, and Chrome dropping support for it, when HTML fully launches, will it be free to publish on HTML, or will you have to buy a subscription? It just seems like for the people who make browser games with the free version of Stencyl it would be better if they could still have access to most browsers.

Just a question, not begging for a completely free program or anything.

Thanks guys, I ended up completely recoding the player from scratch, minus using the "On Ground" behaviour from the kit. It works great now!

I thought that it would be a lot easier just modifying already created things. Not so.

I'm trying to make a puzzle platformer that manipulates gravity. I have the gravity changing down, I'm just trying to make the player character not glitch out when on different surfaces.

Right now I can functionally run around and jump on the ceiling all I want, but for some reason, no matter what I try, the jump animation is reversed, and the fall animation is for some reason just the idle animation. Walking on the walls is insanely glitchy, but I'll get into that later, or in another thread. Right now I just want to get the ceiling animations working.

I've attached the .stencyl file because I have no clue what I'd need to show you guys to get the point across, so I think just showing you the game would be better. I'm using the platformer kit and editing it, just so you know.

Controls are arrow keys for movement, WASD for gravity. The test level start with gravity off, so you need to press one of the WASD keys to get it going.

P.S.: At least my hitboxes are good...

You could try making a new number attribute/number game attribute that you increment by X every X seconds, depending on when the background speeds up. Then you could put that attribute on the increment score by X block, kind of like this.

That's what I meant.

My animations largest frame is as small as it can be, and all the other frames of the same animation are the same size as the largest frame.

I've done this before in games, but something like this hasn't happened before.

Whoa, that looks pretty complicated. Just looking at it right now doesn't make much sense. Could you explain it a little bit more, 'cause that actually looks really useful for what I'm doing.
I have also programmed a internal scripting format based off minor checks that allow various formats. The text is stored in behaviors, or with scene scripts to allow full control of what text is said.

You can do something like the below.

If you don't want the player to get more than one click per actual click, then switch "is pressed on" to "is released on".

Number is a number attribute. You can make them under the attributes tab (it's blue.).
