Hello folks, it's been a while. I'm here to inform you there's a new update incoming on 11th of August!

Update 1.2 is going to add a brand new sand themed dungeon! It's purely a bonus area and has no impact on the main dungeons or story, so it will be available right from the start. It's around the same difficulty as the fire and golden dungeon of the main game, so be prepared for tough challenges ahead!

Also if you are using iOS9, there's a new record button in the pause menu that let's you record and share gameplay clips using Apple's own ReplayKit! Here's a preview video recorded with it:

I completed it 100% with all the treasures and hidden worlds! The last level is absolutely fantastic, what great design. The cloud/heat vapor effect or whatever it was on the fire levels was looked really good. I'd be interested to know how you achieved that.

The heat cloud is just an red and yellow image of a looping cloud pattern that is above everything else on a separate background image layer.

SuperDD has been downloaded 78k times on Google Play and 968k times on iOS. So combined that's over 1 million downloads now!

The game was featured on the frontpage and got the Daily 1st Place Award!

Its not polite to ask about numbers so i only want to know whats the income ratio  ios vs android   ?

I dont think its 50-50 usually IOS is paying more could you share a percentage value ? :)

Android makes me maybe 0.05% if even that. It's pretty worthless platform imo. I wouldn't put any games there if it wasn't for my Android device using fans.

It's very hard to stand out on Android because Google Play is full of useless crap, and Google isn't interested in featuring nobodies, unlike Apple.

Apple actually checks every single game submitted for them, so if you have made something that looks and plays nice, they might contact you about featuring on their own.

Lately I have gotten lots of indies asking me how changing from paid model to free to play has worked for me. Answer is: smashing success.

SuperDD has been downloaded over 900k times by now. Duke Dashington and Tiny Dangerous Dungeons were paid apps, and didn't get even 20k downloads combined.

Of these 900k players, only 1.91k has bought the Remove Ads IAP. But that doesn't really matter, as the ads are the main thing here. With the ad revenue, I could easily quit my job and live comfortably for couple of years as full time indie if I wanted to.

The sad fact is, there simply isn't enough paying customers on mobile for unknown little indies. With a free game, people have less threshold to download it, and people who don't want to or can't pay can still play it. If you can also nab App Store feature with it, your game spreads like wildfire.

Paid games might have more success on PC and consoles, but for mobile, I'm sticking with free+ads model from now on.

Super DD 1.1 update is out now! It contains:

-Player now has more friction on ground, and releasing movement buttons in air now rapidly slows down your speed, allowing more precise landing and movement.
-Fixed a bug where new record didn't replace the old one at the end of Time Trial mode for entire game.
-Ads should no longer crash the game on iPhone 4
-Small adjustments and fixes.

So with Apple not changing the Best New Games list yet, does that mean you get a full two weeks of feature time?

No, App Store just updated a day later than usual, so guess I bit longer feature. Now that App Store has refreshed, the game has gotten bunch of smaller features, like being part of 10 Awesome Retro Games list.

I've been using this extension and it's otherwise working just fine, but I'm getting reports that the insterstitial ads crash the game. I tried playing on my iPod Touch 4 and when video ad popped up, it didn't fill the entire screen, and was very laggy and the skip timer moved really slowly, when it eventually let me press skip the game crashed. Do you have any solution to this?

3 features in a row, very nice 8).  Did you give up on the premium model or are you just trying something else?

It depends how well this game will do. If it's more successful than my previous games I might stick with the free with ads model.
