Hi there,
I want to create a laser beam. The laser beam will start from a laser creator and remain until a tile comes in its path.
Because of performance issues, I can't use small actors making up path of laser beam.
I also can't use only on one actor for laser path as distances for different cases will be different.
I can't use Image API too. Because code will become much complex and I am not much familiar with Image API. Although I have seen Abigayl's tutorial.


Any ideas?
What should I do?

Make an boolean attribute for your sensor actor in its events and set it true in when created event.
Then, make a collision event for checking the collision of player with sensor.
And then add an
if (boolean attribute)
set boolean attribute to false


do whatever you want her...

I might have to subsitute my attributes for game attributes then..
If you want to change both the scene behaviour attributes and scene event attributes, you can use "for this scene get?set something to something" block.

There is an extension called Raycast API.
Use the block "first actor on line" present in that extension.

I don't think that an attribute will change in scene behaviours if an attribute having same name is changed in scene events .
It will change only if it is a game attribute.
You can check it for yourself too by drawing both the attributes' values.

You will have to create your own logic to make it work.
First go through crash courses you haven't  to get a hint of basic concepts of stencyl and then run through some main concepts of stencyl through stencylpedia. After that I assure you that you'll be able to achieve what you want(to a basic level).

you have disabled gravity and x,y speed for collision shape, not actor itself

create the region outside of the screen and then in when created event of the scene, move it to the desired place. That should work I think.

An idea,
If you are not able to switch animations of spawned enemies, then create them in the scene editor, set their opacity to 0, disable all behaviours and make them move to the position of boss.
Then, when you want your enemies to be spawned, set their opacity to 100 enable all behaviours for them  and disable the code for moving them to the position of boss.

It feels awesome to have such isometric engines(soon which will be 3d I guess :) ) in a mostly 2d maker community.
Why not make it a part of Stencyl?

When you deleted your actor, then all the attributes which were using that "PlayerPlatformer" had no value.
This gives you a null exception.
Even if you haven't used it in any of the scenes, make sure all the attributes have value.
Check every scenes behaviour and all the events which have an actor attribute.  If you see an empty actor attribute which was once set to PlayerPlatformer, set it to your new actor.
