Ask a Question / Re: Error testing game
« on: March 18, 2015, 05:39:25 pm »
Tried it both ways, trying to make that files with the period at the end makes it say "The name “.haxelib.” is already used in this location. Please use a different name.". Without the period it doesn't say anything, but the problem persists.

Huh. Try creating /home/ubuntu/.haxelib. It can be an empty file. See if you can test then.

The ".haxelib." as a folder or a file? With period at the end included?

Run > Clean Project before testing.

If that doesn't work, provide full logs (Debug > Logs > Generate Logs).

Here you go

Ask a Question / Error testing game
« on: March 18, 2015, 05:21:23 pm »
When I try to test a game it says "Encountered errors while building your game.  Check your logs and post them to the forums"
The log says:

Level:     ERROR
When:      2015-03-19 00:18:42:309
From:      stencyl.sw.io.write.resource.HXWriter

Building for Flash failed. (Return code: 126)

I'm using ubuntu, I just downloaded Stencyl 3.3, in 3.2 this didn't happen.

I was trying to copy Minesweeper. If I upload that to the Arcade, should I call it "Underground Explosive Locator Clone" or something?

Ask a Question / Copyrighted names on the Arcade?
« on: March 16, 2015, 09:25:30 am »
I was looking at my profile, and I noticed that something I uploaded to the Arcade, "Pong Clone", is now called "Paddle Clone", even in the description, where i mentioned Pong now it says Paddle.
I guess we have to avoid Copyrighted names?

Resolved Questions / Re: Initializing Lists and Default Values
« on: August 21, 2014, 06:00:03 pm »
Default values work only for non-hidden attributes.  Setting the list to "create new list" is only needed for hidden attributes.

After checking this and a little testing, I have determined that attributes created in the "events" tab of the scene designer (that is, outside a behaviour) are hidden by default, and since they don't have a checkbox for hidden when in events, cannot be made unhidden, causing this problem since hidden lists need to be initialized. Maybe the Stencylpedia should mention this, it doesn't mention "create new list" at all, although it appears in one of the pictures.

Thanks for your help Rob, you are always answering questions =)

Resolved Questions / Re: Initializing Lists and Default Values

If I try to  get a value from those default values, it returns null. Apparently that is a common trouble, and it is necessary to "initialize" the list first by setting it to 'create new list', which, as I said, deletes the default values.

Predefined values? Do you want to set values before initializing the list?

Well yes, what else is this part for?

Resolved Questions / (SOLVED) Initializing Lists and Default Values
« on: August 20, 2014, 06:26:47 pm »
Hello, sorry if i'm asking too many questions lately.

So far as I know, to use a list you first must initialize it by setting it to "create new list", but that seems to make it an empty list. What if I want it to have predefined values? How to avoid erasing them when initializing?

Resolved Questions / [SOLVED] Accessing items in a list within a list
« on: August 19, 2014, 06:35:58 pm »
I'm making a coordinate system,  so I tried to put lists withing a list (that's called a 2d array, no?). However, I don't see how to call, say, item #1 from list number #2, just how to call list number #2. Well, technically i found how, but it's a mess and unreliable, and I refuse to believe that there's not a better way.

What can you tell me about this?
