Well take this opportunity to learn as much as you can!
For a first game, the gameplay and mechanics are solid, so keep up the good work.
The first link you posted of the game still has only 10hp for the ship.

Those all sound like good ideas.
May i suggest if some enemies granted you powerups?
Such as:
  • Small Heart (heals 5?)
  • Bomb - Blows up all enemies on screen
  • rapid fire

I also had the game freeze when i clicked the ammo tab. :(
The combat is nice. Reminds me almost of pokemon.

Comments:
The enemy's health drops below zero.
Maybe give indication for how much damage was dealt to you?

A quick google for videogame names would usually be a good idea.
I like it, although it seems to only have one setting: Hard.

Put a print function in that code: Flow>>Debug>>Print
Print like"50 kills reached" to the console.
Check the console when you're testing because maybe there's something else happening?

I'm trying the same thing ( implemented differently) and its not working either. I cannot move the camera at all with the mouse


My screen is 800x600 so anything within the last 50px of the screen will scroll towards that direction - diagonals included.

You need to reference the camera center: (screen height/2) and (screen width/2) In addition to the X/Y location of the camera.

That's explaining a toggle button action. The way you had it before, the game would only pause if the button was held down- not very convenient.
All you have to do is tie in the "paused" attribute to your spawn logic.

That sounds like the game would only pause if the "p" button depressed. You could set a Boolean attribute called "paused" when p is pressed.
If "P" is pressed, AND NOT paused>> set paused TRUE.
if "P" is pressed, AND paused>> set paused FALSE.

You may run into issues there depending on the order. I haven't tried this in stencyl yet, buying there's a switch case function, use that instead.

Hmm... Alright. I think i know how to fix:

Create a game attribute called "region drawn"
And i can tie that into my selection logic.
As soon as the region is deleted i can reset that boolean.
Now how do i set this thread as solved?

Create a "50 kills created" boolean attribute, and tie it into your logic.

IE:

If Kills >50=, AND NOT 50 kills created >>
     Spawn Actor
     SET 50 Kills created TRUE

Im on a computer that doesn't have Stencyl installed right now, else I'd provide a screenshot.

I'm not sure exactly where you want him to be from that first screenshot you showed.
Have you made sure your drawing origin is set the way you want it?
Check your actor animation properties. If he's spawning in a block that has collision associated with it, he might be getting pushed off into a non collidable block?

I have an actor that is looking to be selected upon a drawn region.
So the actor is constantly looking for the last drawn region, which i then delete after a unit is selected.
This action is for an RTS; drag a selection box around units to select them.
The Console is being flooded with "region not found" (or similar) messages and I'm wondering if there could be a performance drop if there are a lot of actors looking for a region that doesn't exist.

I ask this because I'm wondering if should change my "drag region to select units" behavior before i get too far into this game.
