OK thanks for the advice Photon. I'll try turning up the ship and bullet speeds. I feel like when I look at the same project for too long I can't tell if it's "good" or "fun" I just see the work. But I'll give faster game play a go, thanks.

Battle Lines is a project I started some time last week. It's a retro style shooter with simplistic graphics all made by me  8).
 I hoping to launch it for android/ios with multiple ships/ upgrades and shared screen battle mode.

Check it let me know what you think, still bugs and much to do obviously.

Like I said wasn't really much of a game. I just put this together (real fast) to mess around with player controlled parallax scrolling. I agree the game is ugly and frustrating, I hate almost all aspects it. 

As for the art in my game "Invasion Force", The archers and creatures were created by Clint Bellanger, as stated in the credits. You can see his profile here

I made this "game" today, I found a way to let the player control the parallax scroll of the scene (tap the up or down keys in game). I attached this to a global variable, so I as you throttle your spaceship the background and the asteroids give the illusion of speed up. Anyways I thought it was a neat idea I'd share, let me know what you think.  8)

Invasion Force is my entry into Stencyl Jam 13, I learned a lot over the couple months making this game. I am thinking of evolving it into a "Orc's Must Die" trap based game. Any input is appreciated.

Defend your kingdom from the forces of evil. Faceoff against 6 unique enemies though 9 levels on 3 continents.

Resource gathering is now 2X as fast
Barricades now have more 2X HP

-Highscores added
-Bug fixes all around
-more updates soon (guards?)

Gather resources
Build houses to gain population
Build houses and towers to recruit archers
Build the Mage guild to create Mage towers, which damage and slow enemies.
Build barricades on roads to slow enemy's
Dont let your castle fall!

I know my game isn't polished or really fun to play at the moment, but I hope some can appreciate it's uniqueness. There's not enough Stencyl games that aren't platformers which I refuse to make. :)

I Just wanted to thank Stencyl for hosting this jam, its been alot of fun seeing peoples creations, and has motivated me to finally get a game, at least mostly done (been a user/forum stalker since 2011). The guard houses are currently not functioning don't build
The current waves were made in a HUGE hurry and most likely need to be adjusted for difficulty

I agree with rob the collisions are a bit frustrating, the game itself is fun tho reminds me a bit of a gameboy zelda game.

I bought IGB when it was on kickstarter and it has helped me immensely graphic wise. A lot of the textures are in pieces and encourage you to rearranged them, so not everyone is using the exact same textures. I'd say the game I'm working on at the moment is 80% IGB graphics and IMO looks good.

This game is so random! But some how the commentary does keep it semi interesting, almost like the robot voice in Portal games messing with you.

The hard drive is probably done. It's quite common in laptops for the HDD to fail from being knocked around alot. Goes to show why you should always make backups. I have my dropbox account sync with my game workspace folder so it backups everything automatically.
