I just released an update to Level With Me, added Challenge Levels. Give them a try, they're pretty fun.

TouchArcade covered the update:
http://toucharcade.com/2017/01/10/level-with-me-challenge-mode-update/

The game just finished a week featured in China's App Store, which brought in over 35,000 downloads and pushed total downloads over 600,000.

Revenue is good. When there's no feature traffic, it hovers around $20-$30/day. Much higher when featured.

Thanks, the feature accounted for basically all downloads. Downloads dropped considerably after the features ended, now they are very low but steady. Retention has not been very good. Right now the game is still a one-trick pony. I'm working on an update that offers a little bit more content and possibly better retention.

Edit: Android downloads are far higher than on iOS right now thanks to a few YouTubers, but revenue-wise android's still a fraction of iOS.

Difficulty increases the higher your score. Passing each level is 1 point.

Rob, I assume that Chartboost still does not work with Xcode 8? It doesn't seem to be working for me.

OK I replaced frameworks as instructed, cleaned project, and it built to my phone without any compile errors for the first time. However, the ads don't show up, and when I open the heyzap debug window, it's empty, except for a message, "Fyber Version 8.5.5 - Waiting for SDK to start."

Logs attached.

It looks like there can be multiple games with the same title. Just search the play store for "bottle flip." There are multiple games with "Bottle Flip" alone as the title.

The Polish YouTuber "Sitr0x" played LWM in one of his vids. I don't understand what he said about my game, but I have at least 40 5-star review from the "Sitr0x Army" so far today, so he must have liked it. Not sure how many downloads yet.

Now available on Android. If you play it and like it, please consider a helpful review!

I'm getting a black screen after an ad displays in-game. I can successfully test ads from admob, chartboost, applovin, and heyzap when I'm in debug mode. But no matter which ad displays in-game, it gets stuck in black screen. I installed the heyzap extension just a couple days ago. Any help?

Report:

October 31, the App Store featured Level With Me in "New Games We Love" in the #3 spot. This was nearly 2 weeks after I launched the game, so it surprised me. In fact, I didn't notice until the next day. :)  #3 is a prime spot, but I think Halloween was on everyone's mind, so it only got 8,000 downloads that day.

The US App Store feature is different from other countries; they add 2-4 games to the new games feature section each weekday. So this week my game has sat at #3, 5, 8, 12, and currently rests at #16 for the weekend. It will most likely be removed Monday.

On Thursday, 99 other countries featured LWM in new games at the #5 position in many of them. This should last until next Thursday, which is nice.

Downloads by day since feature:
Mon: 8k
Tue: 40k
Wed: 36k
Thu: 48k
Fri: 70k (40% Europe, 30% Asia/Pacific/Africa, 30% US)

Probably over 250,000 downloads by end of today.

Ad revenue by day since feature:
Mon: $80
Tue: $350
Wed: $450
Thu: $1150 (fixed an ad display bug)
Fri: $1550

After the first 5 games, fullscreen video/static ads appear on every 2nd game over. Right now I'm using Admob and Chartboost, Admob is performing better. 250,000 players and no complaints about the ads.

Total revenue from $1.99 in-app purchase to remove ads: $50

Sharing is caring. ;)

It's been featured under "New Games We Love" in the USA since Monday! (USA features are fluid, with small changes every weekday). I just hadn't posted it yet. Good to hear about Europe feature!

Because of some unforeseen events that have taken away much of my gamedev time, I doubt I'll get my super scary game finished by the deadline. Also, here's a gif that hints at where the game is heading.
