Stencyl has the option to select Bicubic and Bilinear resize methods, but they are not the more appropiate methods for reducing images.

When you import in Stencyl any image at x4 scale, sometimes you can see the ugly moire artifacts in the images that Stencyl automatically generates at x3, x2, x1.5 and x1, (especially in x1 images, the undesired moire artifacts can be quite noticeable)

This is an important problem because it reduces the quality of the downscaled images and negatively affects the overall aesthetics of any game. This problem has been commented sometimes in the Forum. Example:,47015.0.html

When making commercial games, good image quality is essential and necessary.

Lanczos resize method is best for reducing images size. It gives sharp results with less artifacting than Bicubic and Bilinear.

For this reason, I suggest to implement the Lanczos resize method in Stencyl.

In light of recent changes to the downscaling code (see this topic), I'd like to know if this is still desired.

For the moment it seems that such changes provide a satisfactory result.
This fix was very necessary. Thanks.
