I think North America was around 7% with rounding and such. So yeah, a reasonably big difference.

Everything below the U.S. prefers soccer, and if television has served me well Canada likes hockey.

I really think bashing on sports and countries is a bad idea on the internet and isn't going to go anywhere. Everything has its ups and downs. If you don't like soccer @warzone just keep it to yourself. I actually don't mind soccer.... Women's soccer

    it played by nearly every country
    american football only played by one? country
    at least rugby is played by most countries
    soccer players get highest wages
    more people would watch a soccer final(e.g world cup) than like the superbowl

Irock is incorrect on his history. Time and time again studies show that football is the more good sport. If libertarianism works why has no country tried it.

(I love math) Just to clarify, North American Population is ≈ 565*10^6. World Population is ≈ 6.91*10^9. 

565*10^6/6.91*10^9 ≈ 0.0817 ---> 8.2%
