So I'm determining whether to post my app on the app store immediately or posting it on FGL for some time, and then publishing on the app store if the offers I get (if any) aren't up to my standards.  So my main question is, in order to publish the game in general I need a Studio License with Stencyl, however do I also need the certificates from Apple in order to publish on FGL?

Unrelated to that I'm also unsure about the app testing, in order to test my app on my own device I understand that I must register my device with Apple, but would that also require the certificates?  I'm just wondering how far I can go before running into the certificate process, which I've heard is a pain.

if i remember correctly, you need certificate even for testing on your own device for apple. if you want to try finding a sponsor you may want to try putting it on FGL for some time before publishing it

But in trying to find a sponsor on FGL does that require getting the certificates and setting up everything just like the app store, or am I able to just export it using the Stencyl Studio license and it would work fine?

you cant export anything for iOS without certificate as far as i know. its depends on what you want to show to the sponsor, you can show flash version or android(i guess)

1. Totally up to you. Nothing wrong with seeing where you stand at FGL and then waiting. Why not post on FGL and App store simultaneously. You could also monetize and use ads for ios if you think your game is capable of bringing in enough traffic or charge a flat rate price. Not a really helpful answer but consider your options and what you think will work best for your game.

2. You need to be subscribed to the apple developer plan (99$/year) in order to test on your ios device because I believe you create your certificates through them. My Stencyl subscription expired :( so this time I decided to Renew my apple subscription first in order to be able to test my games. The stencyl guide was very useful when it came to creating my certificates. Follow it and you can't go wrong. It shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes, just make sure everything in xcode is updated.

Putting them up simultaneously wouldn't do any good, as sponsors will only want to sponsor a game that the public hasn't already seen, unless looking for a site lock which is tremendously lower money.  I may give it a go just to see if it's worthwhile for later games.  I read all the stencyl guides on the iOS certificates and publishing to the app store, just with my limited access to a Mac computer and wanting to have my game fully finished and polished, I guess I've just been pushing it back.
