Oryx released those sprites under a Creative commons license 3.0, so you can use them for whatever you want as long as 1) You give him credit and 2) it's not for a commercial purpose.

Oryx art style really stands out among all the entries from a previous derekyu art jam that you mentioned somewhere. Any chance to get oryx to contribute some arts to stencyl?

Just noticed that Blade's art is pretty cool too.

I'm not sure if I'm able to do this again, but I'll give it another shot. I've reworked Turnipman based on Stratesto's very informitive post and [very beautiful] rework of my original, and I thin kit's safe to say that this one looks... well... better, to say the least. I used the NES palette that was posted somewhere and now I can't remember where it was (but I do believe Blob posted it). I took out all the black (I now dislike it with a passion) and added in a 3rd leg animation. Hoorah. And so, here it is!

EDIT: I found the palette. Clicky!

(Feedback and CC is appreciated)

I am by no means a master artist but I did whip up a tileset for an Ice Platformer that I had in mind.

[EDIT]: These were done entirely through Stencyl. Loving the built in editor.

Lunch your pixel work reminds me of artwork created by Jonatan Söderström, very nice.

I suppose I might as well post my signature here for posterity - it was all done with pixels, after all.

And a larger version of one of the images:
Not that I'll ever get around to making these...

My old windows theme, Broken Aero, almost all cracks in it was made with 1 pixel pencil tool in shop, as pixel art, it gave even more realistic cracks that can be done with photoshop brushes

BlackCat, I love the perspective you chose for the character.
It makes his arms look beefy.
Be he alive or be he dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread.

I'm trying to work on moving past 8x8 pixel characters. I like the blocky look, but there isn't enough room for detail. I'm working on some concepts for a Steampunk-themed game, but my skills are quite lacking. I'd like some advice on how to keep the blocky design (I'm using 16x32 px, doubled for the final version), but get the shading right. Here's what I have so far:
