I'm Maxicat Rhododendron. I just downloaded Stencyl and am looking forward to developing my first game. I like 1st person shooters, dungeon crawlers and survival horror games the most. I have been playing computer and console games for as long as I have been forming memories, starting with NES.

Not much else to say. Hope you all are having a lovely day :)

Sure, my games won't get better with all the new features of Stencyl.

Hi everyone,
I have never done any king of programing before, but i did spend 4 years studying animation at college in ireland (where i live).
We learned both 2d and 3d animation aswell as lots about general design and story writing. Now i want my next step to be getting into game making.

  The 2d stuff i did was all hand drawn and then shot with pencil testers, i am hoping some of the skills from that will transfer over to making good sprites for some games.

  In 3d i am best with 3d studio max and zbrush, though i like to tinker with other programmes aswell.
Parts of my materials folder from max will probably wind up making the odd apperence in tiles for scenes but im getting ahead of myself as iv still got to get the basics of stencil down before i get sidetracked planning too far ahead.

A friend of mine recomended this software for me as he used it himself to make a game so i downloaded it just a few days ago.
Since then iv been through crash course 1 and im a decent chunk of the way into crash course 2 and finding it fun learning as i go and Im hoping to have 1 or 2 decent games of origional content done by the end of the summer but we shall see how it goes.

Would like to recomend the crash courses for anyone else starting out,

Hi, my name is Abraham but you can call me Bram for short.

I'm from Mexico, living in north Spain since some years ago, I was born in the 80s so I've grown playing a lot of cool games, like The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, which is my fav from the saga 'cause I felt in love with it after playing it in the GB of a cousin, I actually keep my GBA SP to play my classic Zelda games and another game I loved, Metal Gears Solid for GBC.

I also grew watching and playing PC games, 'cause I'm more a PC gamer than console, specially Heretic/Hexen saga, which I hope it would return soon.

I'm a Computer Engineer but since childhood I'd loved the make pixel art, 'cause the minimalism and coolness of what a few pixels are able to do.

I learned about Stencyl when I looked for web games some time ago, I haven't make a game yet but I'm willing to someday make my indie apportation to the world lol

My name's John Haley. The reason I'm here is in part because I wanted to design a video game since I was 9, and in part because I'm running a play-by-post RPG on a forum... which doesn't require animation skills, but still, I have to draw a lot.

Anyway, I want to make a 2D multiplayer game. I think the realistic approach is to start smaller, using a single-player game with a character similar in design to one of the characters in my multiplayer concept.

My current avatar is Artemis. I'm going to try animating her and, if that goes well, she'll star in a game that's sort of like Athena and Kid Icarus. Y'know... platformer with a Greek mythology theme. Like Athena, the player is a virgin goddess. Like Kid Icarus, the player is an archer.

I'm still on tutorial #2, so I've got ways to go, but if I had fun making that green marshmallow guy jump on prongers, I think the learning process will be even more fun once I have my own animation.

I have little experience animating, but I think my first attempt went alright.

I am about to embark on the journey that is "Learning Stencyl 3.x Game Development" - By Innes Borkwood.

Heyo! My name's Chris. I've spent the last two years going to Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts for Interactive Media & Game Design. I learned a lot but it was more expensive than I could really deal with without taking on massive loans, so somewhat unfortunately, I'm not going back for my last two years, though I may return to college education to graduate one day in the distant future.

That said, I'm still passionate about becoming a game dev some day, even if it only ever stays as a hobby on the side working on small, silly projects. I hope to be able to get my real start with Stencyl. I have some previous experience with 3D Modeling in ZBrush and some light game development in Unity which can both be seen here on my current art/project dump:

Neither of which really carry over into Stencyl, and there's really nothing too great on there anyway, but I think after what I've learned in those programs, taking a step back to use stuff like GraphicsGale again along with a more accessible engine like Stencyl after learning some really basic C# scripting in Unity, I might have a better time actually creating games rather than spending so long on little experiments that don't end up going anywhere like all of my Unity projects. :P

Anyways, good to be here, I look forward to learning from all of you and with all of you! If you ever need some assistance or unbiased outside feedback, hit me up, I'm always glad to offer whatever insight I can!
