Hey all

I thought I would share with you a little technique. A few days ago a friend sent me a SWF of a highly animated character for my game. I was really gutted that I couldn't use it because it was a SWF, but before giving up I decided to do some research.

I found out about "sprite sheets" they work in the same manor as tiles, it's kinda like a flip book of each frame in your animation.

I knew Stencyl could import them so I found a free tool that generates sprite sheets from SWF's!!!

It works a treat and I'm so happy now I've got my swf animations!

It can be downloaded here:

I hope this helps in your game creation!

Damn, your topic title got me excited that i could finally make SWF cutscenes for my games and import them as scenes..

..this kind of plug-in exists for most graphics applications, it just arranges your layers/frames into a grid and exports as PNG.

You can embed and play an SWF in another SWF. I made an example of this for someone else. It should still be on SF as "SWF Splash Screen".

Hum I can tell for sure you can try ANime Studio pro. It import avi, if you can make your flash export or convert to .avi. Then you can export a frame by frame, and import to Stencyl.
