Just learned about Stencyl yesterday. I'm a University Professor that uses Agile programming and collaboration tools to teach innovation and product development.

Stencyl's integrated social features are revolutionary and I'm excited to learn more about it. I will also be sure to have a discussion with our Digital Arts department and their plans to use Stencyl.

We recently had lunch with Tom Fulp of Newgrounds and I know flash development continues to be a hot topic and keen interest of our students.

Hi! I'm a Mexican TEFL teacher working in the state of Oaxaca, in the capital city: Oaxaca. I want to use gaming to teach English because most of my students are teens. I'm not quite into games myself, but I hope ti get acquainted with them in the Summer. Any advice?

I am a technology leader and teacher of computer studies at a secondary school in Port Alberni, BC CANADA. I was introduced to stencyl last month and have been poking around and thinking about how I might use it. It looks like an awesome tool for moving students beyond Scratch (used at the middle schools) into more sophisticated programming without taking away that drag and drop type environment many students need/want for support.

I am interested in organizing Professional Development opportunities for teachers on Vancouver Island, CANADA. Are there any presenters not too far away?

I am very interested in talking to other secondary teachers (grades 8-12, age 14 - 18) who are using or planning to use stencylworks.

Hi Cam,

We hadn't anticipated such a strong response from educators, so there are currently no course materials available other than what you see in the Help Center and, to an extent, Stencylpedia.

With that said, this may be an area we could assign more resources to in the future if there's enough interest.

If you'd like, please send me an email, so I can get a better idea of what you'd be looking for.

I'm currently a pre-service Educator, but I would love to be able to use a tool like this in my classroom.  Although my focus is definitely younger ages, I'm wondering (and part of this would be me needing to think about it more) if there would be a way to either make a kit, or do something to make it friendlier for even younger students.

At the very least, I would love using this as a tool to create interactive quizzes or presentations for students.  Using it outside of the realm of traditional flash games (Which is how I originally got to Stencyl) would be fantastic I think.  It's definitely a tool I will keep in my mind when designing lessons and units, I can see many great things coming from the blend of Stencyl and Education.

Hi! I'm so glad that I discovered this site. I am currently conceptualizing an educational computer-based game (related to Physics) to complete my Master in Education in Educational Technology this year. This is exactly what I need since I do not have much knowledge in script programming...

I am a teacher-soon-to-be.
Currently I am studying Computer Science Education.
It's really good to find out StencylWorks because it helps me a lot when making my learning media.

I'm teaching game design at a tertiary level as an aside to digital media production. Obviously we've more advanced game design courses in the CompSci and Architecture faculties and so I'm really aiming for people that don't want to script but do want to show off their artwork: photos, sound design, interfaces.

I've spent the last two years suffering the endless updates of GameSalad and wishing we didn't have Mac based computer labs ... I'm praying that Stencyl is going to be a good replacement. Here's the funny thing - people don't want to script but they do want to see script because it makes the tool seem 'adult'. If the lab support people OK Stencyl (it has to pass many checks before being rolled out to labs) I'll start re-designing the coursework.

Building assets is a big part of what I teach. I'll be working on sounds and sprites mainly. Also how to communicate gameplay 'in a glance'.

I have a question - is there a connection between Scratch and Stencyl? I looked at Scratch when trying to locate a tool, there's a similar interface going on here.
