Is it because I have 50+ actors on screen is there anyway around this?

Yes, it's lag. The best way around is Abigayl's lagless tutorial (tutorial 6 on here).

This is what I did. I gave an actor a random start speed and place a bunch of this actor in the scene. Got 60 FPS.
Kept adding more and more until the FPS went to 30 FPS.
Went back into my actor. Went to Physics>Advanced>Disable Physics set to Yes
Tested and FPS is back up to 60.

Not to hijack the thread, but how in the world did you acheive 60 fps??? The best I get is 22 fps, and that's at the start of a brand new project...
If you post a problem and solve it on your own, be sure to come back and let others know how you did it. Eventually, someone else will run into the same problem.
