Even though all you said sounds really promising, it'd be nice to have some visual back-up to support the text. It increases appeal of the thread and it gives a much better idea of what the game is like.
Anyways, all you guys have implemented in the game so far, sounds really nice, even though it'd be nice to get some elaboration on the "Renewal is a zombie survival game that will be completely different every time you play." Because that's quite a statement you're making.
Also, I'd like to give some suggestions for the World Beyond, but also this would require some more information about the world.

Nonetheless, it all sounds very promising, but it'd be nice to have some visual (and perhaps even playable) previews for the game.

I will work on this right now, Ill post a few images, and take a few ingame screenshots, however you will need to wait for the in-game screenshots for later because the game is on my desktop at home, and i am currently out with only my netbook :)

Again, I will post some of the item graphics, potions, levels, and people as long as I can get a hold of them from here.

That's looking great, I love the cute style, mainly the regular zombies are a spot-on. The only thing that looks kinda ishy is the 'Gutted Zombie', even though it has to be skinny, it really takes away a lot of the cute style. Also the last potion (the dark purple one in a heart-shaped bottle), looks a bit weird, mainly because of it's shape, but I guess you guys are trying to keep the variation in there, which is good. I'm not sure what the blue potion is, but if it's mana (or stamina or anything similar), I recommend you to make it darker, as people don't associate cyan with mana as much as a more regular shade of blue. But if it's for something totally different, don't mind what I just said.
You could also center the objects in the inventory a bit more, as they are a bit on the bottom of their box now, which looks off.
Further, I really like the level logo's, especially the square one.

All-in-all, good job on the graphics so far, looking forward to the screen-shots.

Thank you for your opinion. The light blue one has no purpose yet,we also have dark blue ones but this light blue is probably some sort of ice :P Yeah the gutted zombie is basically just a concept so far, it is not complete, and has no movement animations yet.

Also I will heed your advice on the potions and tell the artist that did it to center it.

I may not be able to post screenshots tonight, but I will try my best and of course if not I will post them tomorrow afternoon :)

Hey, thanks for the criticism.  Oh, so you know, I am one of the artists.  I am not that great at it I am just trying to learn but I think I am picking up some good techniques and yes the gutted zombie is a big work in progress.  I think it will look cool I just need to figure out how to keep the right look in it.

Its gonna be for PC and most likely only work on Windows (plan on releasing to steam later on). If there are enough Mac users I will try my best to make it compatible on Mac if possible :)

I have attached a few screenshots of the game below, I will be adding a couple more later on when I get around to it :)

The first screenshot is indside the players house. <This has been updated and is visible further in this forum.
The second is the inventory page where you view the resources you have.
The third is where you view the weapons you have, see all the skills and stats on it.
(*Note* the skills in blue are the ones that are owned and the ones in red are not owned. The skills have not all been set up for the weapon in the screenshot)
The last screenshot is in the world beyond (Scene closest to town) Where the world is still very vegetative and there are few weak zombies.

Those screen-shots are looking really good, so far, but I do have some criticism though.
The surrounding of the box to point out the selected item is really off, the sprite work just seems really sloppy. I have the same feeling with the wood sprites, it looks like they were cropped with MS Paint. The text saying 'Selected', exactly the same.
The return button looks, even though well-made, out of place, compared to the other, more pixelated sprites.
Also, on the screen-shot where the main character is standing in a room, it'd be nice to have some shades on the sides, like upper and left side, to give a little more depth. A bit like in here. Also in the room, I'd give the windows a full block instead of putting them in the wall block. It'd be cooler if you got some more transitioning blocks for wood and wall too, like hardwood or something.
The tree looks really awesome, great job on who-ever made that, but again, nothing goes without a flaw, it could really use some shade on the bottom. For the characters, I would give the shadow a lower opacity.
Anyways, all in all it's looking pretty great.

We do have a newer better wood... just never changed it. As for the rest of the graphics, as we start pulling more things together, graphics will be upgraded for sure :)
thank you for the criticism. as for the shading for the house, that is an easy fix :)
I'm glad you pointed that out. i will change it right now.

oh and the back button....
that is only in there temorarily, i will also try to make a better one right now that fits the graphics better.

Lympha- thanks a bunch for all the criticism!  It really does help a lot, considering I am still extremely new at this spriting thing, it is what I need.  You can point out things that I overlook because I am the one who does it (which goes for tgbtom and greenguy who also do some).  sorry if it seems complicating, but it made sense in my head.

Anyways, this is a good list that I will be writting down in my book so that I always have something to improve :D

Great job noticing these things and even better job pointing them out.  In the end it helps you enjoy yourself, and helps us all make a better game.

I must ask, have you done any spriting jobs yourself?  You seem like you know what you are talking about.

EDIT: Yeah, the back button was taken from something in stencyl.  It is just temporary.

thank you, :) I just thought I would show some interest in what you were saying here as I find everything you have said so far very interesting and helpful.  The world beyond is basically a place you go to fight zombies and collect resources. The town is a safe area for you to keep your cool away from zombies, but as soon as you step foot outside of the town that is what we are currently calling "the world beyond".

The first area you are in when you first step outside of the town will just be a level 1 or very easy area.  It will consist of very weak and low profit zombies that have a random moving system, but when you go out farther we plan on having stronger zombies that will start to follow you if you get too close ect. ect.

Now for the world being different every time.  we have some very big plans for this mostly being stores and other buildings that are in different locations every time you play.  In one world you might gett lucky and find your town surprisingly close to a hospital or clinic, but once you die and join a new town there might not be a very useful building within reach at first for a while.

Another thing we plan on doing is making possibly other smaller towns or villages that may or may not have people in them, they might just be for raiding purposes.  Hidden secrets that can be in some things that will be rare but can be in any object like notes of some sort that give spoiler on how to make things or maybe blueprints.  We have thought about many of these and in the near future will be implementing some of these.

satisfied or would you like to hear more? :)
