If an intruder came into your home

BTW (By the way) replace or add with home, I, him, her, them, anything else, anyone else with whatever needed, wanted, both.

I picked other/others/mix/mixes btw.

Anywho also share intruder story(ies) if desired, needed, both as well.

Anywho me I would call 911 and pray (in my head atleast).

My mom would also probably call 911.

If an intruder came into a McDonald's property I would still call 911 just to be safe if I knew he/she/they where an intruder(s).

I'll shout from right behind him: “Stop right there criminal scum, pay the court a fine or serve your sentence, your stolen goods are now forfeit!”

If he refuse or if there's more than one criminal scum, I call 101.
I wouldn't shoot to kill (if I had a gun) because my furniture isn't worth someones life after all... unless he was a threat to me or mt family of course.

I picked the shoot and kill option, but I must post stating that circumstances will vary and not every response is going to be the same. Now, I live in Kentucky and Kentuckians (in general) are stalwarts of firearms owner rights, as well as KY laws being very pro-self-defense.

I can state, with a honest and clear conscience, that I have no qualms about attempting to kill someone who is presenting an immediate and direct threat to my own or someone else's life. I feel that if that person is willing to take a another's life, then they have put their own life at risk as well. Anyone who chooses to carry a weapon capable of deadly harm - such as a firearm - must come to terms with that same decision. I suggest they think carefuly about it well in advance of being in the midst of a situation that requires such a choice. As a result of that choice, I also have to deal with quite an extensive set of vital rules and responsibilities that I am liable for. On top of that, actually shooting someone - even in self-defense - always results in a court case where you must prove that it was justified or face the consequences.

Not every intruder will threaten bodily harm though - most would depart rapidly when confronted - so I hope to not have to do such a deed.

This isn't the place for a gun laws discussion, so I will only say that I respect everyone else's opinions, but the laws give me rights and I choose to utilize them.

I picked call 911, except since I'm British I'd actually call 999.

I'd pull out some secret ninja moves of the government...

And then run out the back door screaming like a little girl.

No, seriously, I am a knife collector and know Judo... so I'd like to think that I would fight 'em off, hopefully without any serious injury to them or me.

I'd call 9-1-1

It's smarter then trying to beat them up, since I'm only eleven :P

In a hypothetical situation where I owned a gun, I'd choose the "shoot and kill" option.

Where's the "shoot to incapacitate" option?

What about kidnapping the intruder and ransoming him?

I am against violent solutions. If I wouldn't have to I'd never harm him (which don't mean I'd let him escape). I'd just knock him off, strain him with a rope, then call 112 (EU equivalent for 911).

There are no impossible things. There is only lack of skills.

That option doesn't really exist.

Yep. Proper use means you don't point a firearm at anything you don't want to utterly destroy. Besides, if they survive it'll just make the lawsuit even worse for you.

Personally I'm a big advocate of self defence but I'm aware you can't really get away with much in the UK. So I'd call the police, try and secure myself and wife, loudly proclaim that the authorities were in transit and encourage the dastardly fellow to leave. The awareness that they had been caught should be enough to cause most criminals with any sense to vacate the premises.
I have to return some videotapes.
