We're maintaining the stance that we reward our users who support us financially early on. :)

I don't think it's saying too much to say that I became a subscriber in part to get into the 3.0 beta, and I don't regret it one bit. I'd encourage fence sitters to jump on over to our side.

and if that is saying too much, well, sorry, ban meh  8)

Well, your one post on the solving of lag issues has me interested in jumping, but am just waiting for Christmas instead. ;)
Don't look to me but rather to the One who is the reason for what I do. :)

If you need help, send me a PM. Even if I haven't been on in the forums in ages, I still receive those messages via email notifications. You can also reply to any of my forum posts, regardless of the age (especially if I created it), and I will likely reply.

If you want to see the programming behind certain types of games, feel free to check out my "Demo-" games on StencylForge (http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,16160.0.html)

I'm wondering whether it is worth to get a subscription now and put my hands on the beta version. Could one of the paid users point me to the right place? My target are iOS devices (and would be truly amazing if there was possibility to reach Mac and Android as well!)
Is the beta good enough to start a project and work on it in full time?

Yes, definitely IMO.

I have a question regarding the HTML5 publishing: Will I be able to publish the code to my own servers, or will I be required to host the app through Stencyl?

"Would you classify that as a launch problem or a design problem?"

Stencyl will output the HTML5 code into a file so you can publish it anywhere you like.

I second this. There are still some bugs that might prevent you from finishing a project with it, but it sure is good enough to start a project.

there are understandably a few bugs, but you can still work on your project.

When 3.0 is released, will I be able to switch versions in the middle of my current project with minimal damage?
I absolutely had to start work on a game, couldn't wait for 3.0!

You may have to change a few things in your game when 3.0 releases but the Stencyl team is working hard trying to make this transition as seamless as possible.

One of the main problems in switching was the size of my game - I was converting an ipad game from 1024x 960  to be universal (ipad, iphone and android) - so all my scenes needed changing to be 480x320 to allow the system to scale to the various output sizes.  All 24 scenes needed doing by hand.   So if you plan to produce games for iPad, iphone and Android in the future - I'd advise that you design your game at 480x320.

This is really exciting for me ; it's one of the 2 reasons I picked Stencyl (the first being I can deploy my html5 code to my own servers..).  Awesome - I can't wait for this.
