Publishing for iOS isn't free.

Oh, yeah whoops. I meant you could build the apk's, as you can build the pkg's.

Anyone know if Stencyl 3.0 support Global Custom Blocks for iOS and Android? :)
Yup. You can make global custom blocks for all platforms (using blocks or haxe code.)
If you want to make something platform-specific for iOS or Android you can do it with an engine extension.

To me it seems that the release is mainly waiting on one super annoying bug. It has to do with Box2D implementation and causes "snagging" on tiles. I'd say be patient, and if you're not, buy Stencyl. 3.0 is definitely worth it.

it seems that there's a couple collision related bugs such as the snagging issue us testers have found that seem to be the most pressing unsolved ones. other than those I can't think of any major issues.

Yeah, most the issues are a result of the integration with haxe and Box2D

I can't wait for it to come out. And I'm proud to have personally identified several bugs that were then fixed :D I feel like I am personally responsible for stencyl's success

See, this is what I'm talking/typing about. I think this would have made an excellent blog posting...

1 - It's very encouraging ...because it seems like Stencyl 3.0 is close to launch.
2 - I was like, "Ah... Box2D!" ...because it's popular software in Game Development.

Also, there's this...

I can't wait for it to come out. And I'm proud to have personally identified several bugs that were then fixed :D I feel like I am personally responsible for stencyl's success

By making people part of the development process, it strengthens the community. If Jon/Joe are too busy to write it, I think a blog posting from one of the Beta testers would have been cool too.

I'm not trying to win a debate. I can totally understand staying focused on the job. Like me... maybe I should be working instead of posting this. :D

Nah, you're completely right. The lack of official / (un)official feedback has been pretty disheartening for many users. It would likely have kept some of their complaints at bay (though they should realize that complaining is counterproductive for both them and the Stencyl team).

The Box2d collision problem mentioned exists in the current Stencyl version too. You can get around it, but the "fix" is not even close to being ideal. I've actually actually put my game on hold for that very reason. It's worrisome for me that it's still in version 3.0, but I DO like that it seems more acknowledged now.

As Photics is pretty much getting across -- even the bad news is still good news to hear about!

I don't even know if we're supposed to be discussing the beta, but the box2d problem is not the same in 3.0 as in 2.2, we have seperate issues and that I suspect is why it's not released yet, but that's 100% pure speculation on my part I have no inside knowledge other than my own experience using 3.0 to build my game

My understanding is that technical issues relating to the beta can now be discussed openly.

I'm sure that Jon will advise if this incorrect.

Darn! Hopefully it all gets addressed. Box2d seems to really be causing a lot of headaches.

And I believe you're able to talk about minor things -- just not the important things, such as new features and so forth that make 3.0 a great release.

Ty for the feedback btw :) Speculation or not, I like to hear it.
