Proper HTML5 support isn't going to happen for a long time because OpenFL needs to optimize their HTML5 engine first.

Jon, it is super exciting to hear we will see a new site launch to prep for the 3.0 release within the week!  Since our organization has adopted HTML5, mobile audio has been a major thorn in our sides too.

Quick question for ya...do you feel it is safe to build out interaction prototypes to test and present via .exe files while your team works out the final kinks for HTML5 export?  It would be nice for me to be able to demonstrate concepts while bugs are being fixed.

I contacted pre-sales to ask for HTML5 examples...but I should have read this post first   :o
Our V.P. should be ok with me getting a paid membership to build out interaction demos if I break down the overall plan.

Thanks,

Rob

That's the same reason why I came up with Stencyl. HTML5 export is perfect for prototyping a game and present the proto with the new technologies. Unfortunatly, Stencyl dropped HTML5 support. Our company now moves further, but I invest some time in Stencyl for my own.
Sure, my games won't get better with all the new features of Stencyl.
But I do have more fun creating bad ones.

Are there any plans on changing the pricing after the 3.0 release?

Hi - I just bought a paid membership, but I can't find the link to get 3.0 Beta. Is it still available?

Just want to say that we'll be rolling out a brand new site ahead of the upcoming 3.0 launch. This will happen within a week. This way, we won't try simul-launching too many things at once and risking something going wrong.

Jon are you still rolling out the new site?

How long after the new site will 3.0 be released?  I have been anxious to try Stencyl but have been waiting for the new version to attempt anything.  If it is not going to be released for a while, how close is the current version to the new version?  Is it worth learning it during the wait for 3.0?

The new site is available for paid customers right now :).

The new site (which I love) should be out alongside the 3.0 release (Quarter 1 2014).

It will be beneficial if you begin learning now. There are many features to become aquainted with in Stencyl. Everything you learn will be relevant when 3.0 comes. In terms of what Stencyl is and how it functions, the versions should be very similar.

I was actually going to, but for reasons I can't disclose, I'm holding on to the old site for a few days more.

This seems like a fun guessing game. Why's the site being delayed?  ???

2D Lists now part of Stencyl, forcing you to update lots of documentation?

Looking for a 2D list extension?

A veteran Stencyler has created a handy extension for 2D lists. We may fold this into Stencyl in the future.

Maybe it's because they're planning to do a big promotion for my Stencyl book. It's so secret, they didn't even tell me.  :P

Heh, it could be possible. I think iBooks has an affiliate program. https://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/

  • Aliens?
  • Corporate Buyout?
  • Internet Explorer 8 compatibility?

Heh, I'm just having fun. I don't really know what it is. The real question - Does this delay the launch of 3.0? I'm trying to time the launch of Stencyl 3.0 with the textbook.

Reminder to lobbyists, new and old: Please read as much current info as you can before posting about the release of 3.0.

I would add that this would be a good thing to test my 10.1" Trio Stealth G2 tablet with it, since I'm learning with the latest HaXe environment over AS3 nowadays.
