So today was the first day of E3. Microsoft confrence *toooot*

-Halo 4
-Battlefield 3
-MW3

All your typical, almost no value FPSs, and after all that, Minecraft for the 360 (WHAT.)

Can't wait for Nintendo and Valve's showings. What were your impressions of today?

I don't follow E3 much, so I don't know what happened today, but after browsing a few minutes on their sites, the only games on E3 I have interest in are:

Dead Island.

I love zombie related games, but I always wait for a few non-professional gameplay videos before deciding if it's worth buying.

Metro Last Light.

Loved the book, liked the game. I shall follow this one with high anticipation.

Saints Row the third.

Loved the 2nd, it was a very entertaining sandbox gta-like mayhem.

Modern Warfare 3.

I never really understood why being a CoD player was so pejorative, but I have no shame to admit I enjoy these games. Every now and then I like playing extremely scripted cinematic games, It's like watching a semi-interactive movie.
The multiplayer is far from groundbreaking but can be enjoyable if you disable the voicechat. :)

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Not sure about him, nice trailer and all, but having the same name as a 10 year old game who was awesome back then doesn't make this one automatically good... wait & see.

- I think I will probably end up buying Saints Row the third, I have faith in this one.
- I love games like Victoria 2 and Hearts of Iron 2/3. I hesitate between being disappointed that these kind of games never got big media coverage and being happy that big industries are not trying to rape and deface them. Paradox interactive are present but I think it's for totally different type of games.
- I was not expecting anything original or innovative, I only find this in a few indie games.

Certainly excited to see what Nintendo has to offer in a few hours or so. Anxious to find out more about the Cafe and its fancy specs which are apparently better than both the PS3 and the Xbox360. :3

Will we see a new age of games for the Cafe from talented 3rd party developers and not awful 'party' and 'waggle' games? I'm definitely hoping that it becomes reality.

I'm a Nintendo man, so I wasn't really interested in yesterday's goings on. That said, I did read Kotaku's live blogs of all the shows, but that was purely so I wouldn't be completely lost in conversations - there wasn't anything announced that I feel the need to comment on.

BTW, where do I need to go to stream Nintendo's show?

I'm using IGN, but there's definitely other places you can find just by googling and searching a bit.

Wii U has potential.  Not sure how to feel about it.

So far, I'm only really excited about King Of Fighters 13 finally coming to consoles.  Oh, and Luigi's Mansion 2.

Sucks I can't see in 3D though to get the full experience out of my 3DS.

New Wii Kirby game! It seems like that "cancelled" 4-player Gamecube Kirby game lives on somehow. Though instead of helpers it seems like Kirby is joined by Meta Knight, King Dedede, and a Waddle Dee with a headband. Looks kinda like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but I'm sure it's different, this is Kirby after all!

More details on Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword! I love the game's art style, it's colorful but not cartoony, an interesting mix of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess I'd say. (for the record I happened to love Wind Waker's art style) It looks neat and all, and the WiiMote Sword stuff actually seems cool...but I can't help but think...I wish Zelda was playable. Look at her, she's adorable.

And the game is named after her for crying out loud! Oh well, at least you can fly on giant birds, that's cool.

New Mario for 3DS has Tanooki Suit! I didn't see any word on if it could turn into a Statue or not. That, combined with an airship level makes this seem really Mario 3-y right now. Personally, I'm really hoping they finally make a "main" Mario game where Princess Peach is playable! Mario 2...is a special case (a remake of some other game, and it's weird...awesome, but weird) I'm sure the story will just be, "Hey, Princess Peach was kidnapped...again. Go save her from Bowser."

Maybe I'm just spoiled from Peach and Zelda being playable in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl, thinking that will somehow increase their chances of being playable in their own series. It hasn't shown any signs so far though.

Speaking of Smash Bros., 4th announced for Wii U and 3DS. No other information (big surprise)

Haha Rhys.  Don't get me wrong. I Love the COD series, and I think MW3 is going to be an amazing game, especially considering I love Infinityward over Treyarch. ( not to mention BF3 will be pretty awesome too)

But, I really think the new console will be amazing, and I plan to preorder it as soon as it can be done.

To be honest, I never liked Call Of Duty after MW1 simply because each game was a re-hash, unoriginal, and the multiplayer was unbalanced. Also, MW3 is being developed by Activision, not IW.

It's being developed by Infinity Ward, which is owned by Activision, as well as Sledgehammer games, also owned by Activision. Activision isn't a developer, it's a producer.
