How to Generate Logs

Stencyl, like any program, generates logs. Posting these logs to the forums will help us diagnose and resolve your problem.

To generate logs, go to the following menu item.

Debug > Logs > Generate Logs

Then, attach the resulting ZIP file to your forum post.

Sometimes it can give information if the application fails to launch, as well, but that depends on what is causing the problem. Some problems will not show (e.g. problems outside of Java/SW).

I'm running into a problem. Look at screenshot.png attatchment. The window goes grey when i try to open my power crazy game? (included logs, log-04-24-2012.zip. says cannot save one or more resources. the game is power.zip

How can I turn off the LOG? I know how to get a report should I need it however when you test a game in 3.0 now it generated a window with log info I dont need. I cant find a way to turn it off

Please be patient. The nightly builds already do have a toggle-button for the log-viewer / output  in the toolbar. At the moment you have to close the window manually or move it in the corner.

Ah no problem just wanted to make sure I was going crazy Glad to see it's in the works..

You can also press Esc to close it using the keyboard.

How about a post about understanding error messages? So we fix anything we can by ourselves individually.  My errors don't bring any relevant behaviours.

CAN SOMEONE HELP! where do i find my forums and where do i post them? im sorry im new to the program and only have the free version! thanks.
