The player becomes stuck sometimes when moving, and the music restarting after every reload is annoying.  Recently there was a thread about StencylForge tilesets and I mentioned that some developers misuse them by slapping them around randomly.  Your game is a good example of how NOT to use free tilesets in games.  There should be some consistency in how you use free art, and you should make modifications to the art as needed to fit together.

Agreed with rob about everything he says, but i also have to say it kept me amused and the difficulty curve is quite well done.. But yeaah, consistency and music :) Good for a first game though :D

I had an idea of the tilesets to change every 5 lvl. So it wouldn't seem to monotonous,( Sorry for possible misstakes i am not from an english speaken country)..;)

I have now updated it but the new movement behavior does not show the different animations for the actor, but i guess that is better than the problem before.... Thanks guys for the words, it helped me making my game better. I must say the Stencyl forum really is helpfull :)

Well it had to be named something!!  ;) And yes i know now that my game really sucks compared to other Stencyl games, but i also made this game so i could learn how to become better at Stencyl. You have to be bad before you can become good. :)

Not necessarily.

So what you are saying is that a 14 year old kid like me, who have not try Stenyl before, knows everything about it and is god damn good from the start?? How is that possible? I have to try things out first.. Don't be so mean, I am still at the point where i'm learning how to use this software.. But sorry if I disappoint you by not being a pro right from the start.. ???

Uhh, I suppose that Irock didn't mean it like "everyone should be pro from the very beginning", rather that "some people are so good that they will get to know the program quick enough to make decent game".

Alternately, "some people are such a procrastinators that by the time they actually release something they'll learn on many crappy unfinished projects how to make a really good game". :P

I meant the first thing Sunflower said I meant. Not everyone is bad when doing something for the first time.

Even I have to admit my first game created with Stencyl that I ever finished and released was a bit of a stumble... it was for a Stencyl Game Jam back when I was in the private beta. I literally threw out any sort of high resolution in my game and went all the way down to 3x3 (only partially... I did increase the resolution and magnified the final display so I could put in some text and an ending graphic) and came up with a game idea from there. It didn't work so badly, but my source is a bit of a wild goose chase because you'd expect boss health handling to be in the boss actor. Well... that didn't happen. I attempted a sequel at another private beta Game Jam, but that was a massive mess of code and it was killing the framerate on my end (not to mention I ran into some bugs with my code), so I officially canceled that. I was attempting grid-based platforming with some possible puzzle inventions, and it didn't work very well.

Hahahaha, pro from the start :'D I can't see how you could possibly be pro from the start (Unless it's like a game framework for a language you already know) My first ever game was tic tac toe :L Admittedly i haven't come much further... But screw you. ;)

Many game development companies such as Valve and Rockstar made very impressive games right from the start. Daisuke Amaya's first game was Cave Story, one of the most notable indie games to date. I don't think these are rare prodigies either, there are other examples of people with high standards that have achieved this.
