Hey guys! This is my first attempt at a Stencyl game, I do have some things to add to finish the level off. The client only wants one scene for now, so i'm trying to end it with sort of a cliffhanger to leave you wanting more.

Hi
some thoughts:
  • why cant i click anywhere to continue in the start screen?
  • the light effect is causing heavy performance issues
  • the naming of some objects can be much better (you ask for a light bulb, i click the bulb in the middle but the system wants me to click on another one (same with various hammers)- you should avoid that
  • you should implement a hint if players are stuck
  • the objects should have some overpainting to make them fit better into the background
  • new objects should fill up the lower interface and not just one slot - that feels weird
  • i like the music

I hope that helps,
All the best!

Thanks for the feedback guys! I guess i'll put it up on the arcade later. Nice tip on the lighting effects causing some issues. I'll work on those suggestions today. Thanks again!

Hi!

good progress.
  • i would limit the hints - you can build in a cool down for using it (for example us it every 30 seconds) now it takes away too much fun
  • i still would allow "click anywhere to continue" in the start screen
  • try to overpaint some objects a bit - add some shadows and lightning to fit them better into the background

You should play some free hidden object games on bigfish.com to get some inspiration of what i am talking about.
Cheers!

Awesome stuff guys! So yeah, I love the suggestion on the hints, and i'll adjust the start screen.
As for the overpainting, they aren't paying me enough for that ;)

I'll see about the other stuff since it will expand my Stencyl abilities.

Good stuff, the only thing I would have to add is that the scene (in my opinion) needs to be busier. I.E a lot more objects to help disguise the objects your looking for.

Other than that, great work!
