A Dream game. platformer. Make a dream diary and keep it for a few weeks, then turn those dreams into a game. Google LSD:Dream simulator for what's already been done.

Be strategic and don't be a copycat. Come up with something very original and innovative, and do THAT, instead of copying well-known genres.

When I need inspiration I look at tweets made by Peter Molyneux's parody twitter account called Peter Molydeux. Actually, that twitter account has more followers than the real one. And it is really good source of inspiration. He (the parody) even has a game jam based on his ideas, called Molyjam.
