"Persistent" actors in scenes

Any way we could get a feature where an Actor could be set to be "persistent" in a scene, i.e. if the player enters a scene, leaves, then returns to the scene, the actors' states (i.e. behaviors and on-screen positions) would be stored?

Right now it requires a pretty complex behavior to save and load individual actor data for a given scene.
