Hi guys,

this month we finished our second game with Stencyl. Both games use just the movement of your face to control the game. Please check them out and tell us what you think - they are both free.

The first one is called Eye Breaker:

wow very nice stuff!  I was unaware that Stencyl had the capabilities to do this.  Watching the videos, it looks like a pretty well polished game.

thx guys. the whole game was made with stencyl except for the controls - we did that separately in xcode. That is why we chose Stencyl, because it offers just that - easy game making and the capability to edit the code...

That's an impressive piece of work - well done!

Are you planning on enabling other controls such as level-selection through head-movement?

I think this game has far more than novelty value - have you considered that the head-control opens up a world of gaming to individuals with limited mobility and even quite severe physical disabilities?

we are seriously thinking of moving in this direction in our new releases (adding head control to menu controls as well). we are also very inspired by the idea of bringing this type of gaming to people less fortunate. The real revolution in this field is still to come with eye tracking (the possibility of tracking eye pupil movement), but at this stage the technology just isn't there yet - i give it a couple of more years :)

I'm really curious if you could somehow port the openCV library to actionscript, that would be ground breaking, then you could possibly use something like:
http://hackaday.com/2012/05/30/opencv-knows-where-youre-looking-with-eye-tracking/
and have eye tracking...

I mean just imagine:
I look at "New Game" -> cursor moves to "New Game"
I blink twice -> New Game begins...

that would be interesting

most of the eye tracking systems are usually based on some sort of glasses with a camera attached to it and use IR to track the eye's pupil. i think that is the case also in the video you shared.
the guys that are really doing some amazing work on this matter are the developers from a company called Tobii
