I've tried asking this through another topic, but everyone just completely ignored this part.
Only the determined can even try to make a game!
If u get an answer to ur question, edit topic title to [Solved] by "modifying" ur first post on the topic
Also, if you want ur link to say something else like
this one, which leads to the Stencyl Arcade
, you do this:
[ url=http://www.stencyl.com/play ]hello[/ url ]

What you want to do is program it so that your character detects when he is touching a wall (left or right specifically) and change his behavior based on that knowledge. In the case of wall jumping, it's just a matter of permitting it only in that case. Sliding is just a matter of changing animation and perhaps adding some friction or reducing the "falling" speed.

There's two resources I can think of off the top of my head for you.
One is my own: Search for "Demo-" on StencylForge and find my "Platformer 2" example to see how I do wall-jumping in my own games. It's fully commented so you can see the thought process.
If you prefer to see the development of a wall-jumping code as it goes, check out Abigayl's second tutorial set. The second part of it deals almost entirely with a good wall-jumping code:
http://www.kongregate.com/games/Abigayl/stencyl-2-0-tutorial-2-jumping
Don't look to me but rather to the One who is the reason for what I do.
If you need help, send me a PM. Even if I haven't been on in the forums in ages, I still receive those messages via email notifications. You can also reply to any of my forum posts, regardless of the age (especially if I created it), and I will likely reply.
If you want to see the programming behind certain types of games, feel free to check out my "Demo-" games on StencylForge (
