Feeling booky so I figured I would make a topic about it. What are you reading? (Articles on the internet, novels, comics, this post...)

Reading The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I recently read The Quantum Thief, it was an awesome book - I highly recommend it if you like science fiction. It has elements of cyberpunk but mixed together in a way that is more reminiscent of things like augmented reality. The whole thing is wrapped up in a story that is partly about mind games, gentlemen thieves, and those who would deduce how to stop them.

I am trying to find an article on the physics of jumping that can be used for any programming language, does anybody have any suggestions?

I'm not currently reading anything, but I'll probably pick up A Dance With Dragons when it's released on the 12th.  The whole series (A Song of Ice and Fire) is really fantastic, if anyone is interested.  There's also a show based on the books (Game of Thrones) that just recently came to HBO but I haven't been able to watch it yet.

What a strange coincidence! I'm finding it a joy to be reading them because I've never really gotten the full, original experience.

@Sutch: I love that series, it's definitely among my favorites! You might enjoy the Airborn series as well. It has that kind of adventure vibe to it as well as a steampunk feel. The latest one has them going to space which was a tad of a stretch for me, but it was fairly enjoyable, I feel.

I was actually planning on reading this soon. I downloaded a sample of it onto my Nook but hadn't gotten around to purchasing it yet. Sounds like it's worth the purchase.

I'm reading John Julius Norwich's History of Byzantium, Mario Puzo's The Godfather, and (re-reading) Conrad's Lord Jim. I love summer holidays, it always feels like I can get some real reading done instead of just what I can fit in around school.
Not that I'll ever get around to making these...

Somehow, even though being born in the harry potter gerneation, I am just now getting around to reading the books and watching the movies. On the second one so far.
I want to be the very best that no one ever was. To create them is my true test, to train them is my cause. I will travel across the web searching far and wide, each forum post to understand the power thats inside!

And seriously - Patricia C. Wrede - Dealing with dragons - good book, you should get it.

@Strasteo: PLEASE read the novels (especially a Study in Scarlet). The short stories are great, but there's so much depth in Sherlock's character that only gets revealed there.

I'm reading The Fifth Elephant by Terry Pratchett. What a good old bean he is.
Be he alive or be he dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread.

I love Pratchett's work. Many more to read that I've not gotten to.

Another good author similar to Pratchett's style is A. Lee Martinez. I'd recommend any of his works, great funny stuff.

Reading The Prince to see why it's so evil, and Einstein's General Relativity.

I recommend reading Ahua, the Water Language. I can't review it, because I'd need at least a million words.
