Hero Of Oda is an RPG-lite. Battle across 5 stages and 25 villains while gaining buffs and extra dice to invest into your offense or defense as needed :)  Enjoy!

(Please note the graphics for the heroes and villains in this game are taken from Battle For Wesnoth which has a generous open source license for it's assets as long as the game is non-commercial. This game was purely made for StencylJam and will not be sold or made available for sponsorship etc. http://www.wesnoth.org/ )

One of my favorite this Stencyl Jam. :) Normally I don't like games like this, but a played through it and did enjoy it!

I believe those arrows need a limit. I had some fights like this. Where I won before pressing attack. That was without the need of doing an extra fight. Going 100% off with arrows made every fight up to the last boss very easy. Just needed to hit most of the time and enemies was already half hp when the fight started. I fiend this problems in most games where you can choose attack or def. Kinda difficult to balance. One way is that you get get damaged more then 1bar if the different between your def and the attacker is very big. On the last boss sometimes my def dice rolled 1 and attacker rolled 50. But still only lost one bar.

Also one bug. When I for example try to fight the wolfs at the beginning again/redo the mach. I can't kill them:

The game has a lot of potential and looking forward to play newer versions if you are thinking about building more to it :)

Brb whatching cute cats :)

Wow, it never occurred to me that someone would just constantly buff up the arrows ! Great feedback, thank you very very much!
I see what you mean about the early battles, they have about 8 health and yet you can eventually get more than 8 arrows causing instant death at the start of the match lol
I'm thinking maybe implement a limit for sure, or a chance of failure hmm, I'll decide and get it updated before end of StencylJam. Thanks again for the feedback :) :)

On a side note, after making this game, I'm convinced you could make something like Final Fantasy 7 in Stencyl with ease, this software never ceases to amaze me :)

Ok, the "Tobben2111 Technique" has now been nullified, arrows have been limited to a maximum of 5, stopping you from killing some enemies as soon as you enter the battle screen  ;D

Tobben's comments mirror what I found too.

Maxing out (now on 5) on arrows and then loading up on offense breezes you through the game though it gets really monotonous towards the end as the amount of HP rises. The boss easily goes down if you remember to stock a potion.

It's an interesting core mechanic, though I wish there were more to it than what's there today.

There's a minor bug where you apparently get allocated 7 dice to attack, but "caps" out at 6.

Ah I think I deliberately capped the max dice in offense/defense as six. Never occurred to me someone would replay the bosses for free dice like that, farming them basically lol.

All fair comments, the rush to complete in the deadline meant extensive playtesting was impossible and balancing the game against all possible scenarios was shockingly hard I found. It's much more complex than say a platformer or other game where you can predict what the player will do.

I might do a version 2 in future, and scale everything up, party size etc
