Thanks for all the feedback.

I can assure you that it won't be "crappy or broken or something".  : )  However, it's not available to try out yet.  We're polishing up some of the main database items right now, then we're going to be working on porting it to Stencyl 3.0 and adding a ton of awesome features, as well as the RPG asset and behavior kit which will come with it.

Thanks for the comment, Richard.  We're working hard on getting a demo video out so everyone can see it in action and know that this thing is for real and actually working.  Hopefully sometime this or next week.

Also, I just took a look at your Stencyl course.  I'm going to recommend this to a friend who's just getting started.  It looks very professional.

Is there a battle system in this?

Yes, actually.  It's not going to be anything over-the-top extravagant, but there will be a battle system.  It's intended to be a turn-based system, similar to many classic turn-based RPG's.  The menu will most likely sport a traditional four options:  Attack, Skills, Items and Run.    Obviously everything will be fully customizable and changeable and will directly interact with the database extension.

Keep in mind that any battle system that comes with the extension will be included as part of the RPG kit, and not necessarily the extension, though you might expect a spot in the database that lets you easily modify the basics of the default battle system.

Thanks for asking!

Awesom work you guys are doing, I was wondering how intensive creating a traditional turn based RPG extension or module takes. I can wait for you guys to finish before I attempt anything.

unrelated-but not necessarily: Has you or anyone at Siren Games tried Evoland? I ask because it's a pretty fun traditional RPG that pokes fun at itself. The trophies in the game are all references to improvements to RPG formula, with current information would you say have a dynamic camera can be applied to the battle system you're working on?

We're currently working on transferring our work over to 3.0.  It's definitely not a simple task.  I'm working on some great art assets to package with the system once it's finished as well.  Pretty nifty pixel art.  We're hoping to have a usable extension and RPG kit by the end of the year.  But we're running into new bugs and issues every day.  So we'll keep you updated.

Yes, actually.  I recently bought it on Steam.  It's a pretty neat game.  I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed at how quickly you moved from the old school 8-bit art.  I love pixel art though.

I just joined the community after reading about this kit.  I'm very much interested in this.  I just want to find a cross platform rpg engine that I can leap into making the art and story.  This looks wonderful.  Thanks for making it.

Hopefully somebody will assist them in getting it corrected.

@Siren Games, any chance for a demo video soon?

Just wondering if there's an update on the release date for this? I would love to tinker around with it and perhaps use it to make a 'testing ground' for my in-development RPG. :)
