Game Attributes

It would cut off hours of work if the game attributes could be organized into user created folders or if they were just in alphabetical order in their respective catagories.

Is there something deficient in the user-creatable categories feature as it is today? (How does a folder differ from a user-created category?)

I think the point of TheLastScotsman was that he would like to rearrange Game Attributes inside user created folders, or at least have them in alphabetical order.

Yeah and sticking them in the user created tabs in the attributes section of the game settings doesn't change the order they are in when you go to find them when making a behavior so I just stopped putting them in the user created tabs since it really didn't help me.

I agree, Categories for GA's really don't do anything at this point. If they were organized the same way in DM that'd be one thing, but organizing them in the game center, when it is really only used for creating them, is pointless.

In addition, it is possible to create duplicate categories which clutters the page.

The ultimate solution would be to organize them by type, name, or category in DM. Not organizing by category yet by type or name still renders categories rather useless.

Also It would be nice if stencyl checked to make sure your not naming multiple attributes the same cause I have done that on accident before and when I close the program and open it back up it will delete both instances of the duplicated attribute.

I want to be able to delete categories too...
Why? You might need them in the future.

What if you just misspelled a category?

This, please.

It's really annoying to waste time hunting for that one number game attribute in an unorganized list of 20+. At the bare minimum they should be alphabetized.

Hi,

I think you could close Stencyl, open your game folder, and edit game.xml (keep a copy before) . Delete your useless category in the "attcats" node, and reopen Stencyl.

I should be work.
