StencylForge is down for maintenance (back up, for now)

In order to improve our online presence for everybody, we're performing global maintenance work on the site, which has been rather shaky for the past few months.

Part of that involves taking certain services temporarily offline for inspection and maintenance. Specifically, StencylForge was taken offline on September 5th. During that time, you will be unable to access StencylForge or publish new material to it.

We hope to restore service within a week and apologize for the inconvenience.

(StencylForge went back up late on Friday. We may need to take it down for a brief period in the future if the server begins acting up again.)

Could this maintenance cause any files to be lost from Stencyl Forge?

Looks like i won't be doing any work to my project then since if i just normally save it, every single time it corrupts or shts itself and wont open.. i save on stencylforge to save it but guess i cant now.. sigh

It's odd that your game corrupts every time it is saved. Have you tried exporting your game and then reimporting it? At least you would then have a local copy

I was about to upgrade from 2.2 to 3.0. Does the fact that StencylForge is down impact my decision?

StencylForge is down in all versions of Stencyl. It doesn't inhibit your ability to upgrade.

Thanks for the quick reply. I assume that there are no behaviors, kits, or other resources that are "essential" and installed/dowloaded from Stencylforge only after 3.0 is installed.

I'm being nitpicky because I'm under time constraint to upgrade to 3.0 for certain features (roughly Sep 15) but absolutely cannot get stuck without Stencyl between now and then.

StencylForge is down in all versions of Stencyl. It doesn't inhibit your ability to upgrade.

Abigayl's tutorials will more than occupy you in the meantime! (and if you can't follow her tutorials, Stencylforge isn't for you yet.)

The examples have a slightly different interface than the current version of Stencyl, but she has an explanation to help you through the small differences.
