It would seem premature to post my meagre three hour progress in a dedicated this is my entry thread, but as progress is ongoing and chronolapse is still ticking away I'm tempted......
Regardless in three hours progress I've finished most of the awful u.i., most of the awful graphics, basic data structures for various purposes, map control, some unit control buttons, unit switching and stat display, and random level generation, already keyed to accept different kinds of map data for different levels, permadeath systems, and basic progression mechanics, although as of this moment you can't kill things and therefore progress.
