Dialog Extension General Discussion

Hi natureswarehouse. You need to use the older version 1.3 of the extension if you don't have Stencyl 3.2.

It's possible that I'm blind, but I can't see anything anywhere for 3.2.  Stencyl's website says the newest is 3.1, and I have that.    I had tried installing 1.3 the first time I couldn't get 1.4 to work, and it hadn't worked either, but I just tried again and it seems to have installed, we'll see if it works.  So I guess at this point I'm just confused about the 3.2 thing...I did more searching and found a thread where you reference http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,13789.0.html as pertaining to getting 3.2, but when I click I get an error that the thread is missing or it's off limits to me.  Is 3.2 like a beta for paid users, or what?

I did see the heading saying it required 3.2 (which I notice is now big and red) but because I'd JUST downloaded the program I assumed it was a typo.

Yeah, 3.2 isn't public yet, only subscribers have access right now. So I guess things are good now?

A complicated question, but has anybody figured a way out to change dialog options to be clickable instead of using up/down? I managed to tie my "advance" command to clicking, but the dialog options have no clickable actors...
I know more about Stencyl now.

It's been asked for a few times now, so I'll see about adding that with the next update. And if anybody wants to try to add it themself, the code is in dialog/src-ext/DialogOptions.hx.

Yeah I think so.  Thanks for clearing that up.

Step 3
Import "Dialog Extension Sample.stencyl" into Stencyl.

This step doesn't work, Stencyl say it isn't a valid game or kit.

I downloaded Stencyl 3.2 and the last dialog extension, follow the instructions, etc... And when I open the sample, everything works fine. But when I open the "Good Scene" and test the game, it doesn't work anymore. The screen opens, but the Enter button had no more effect. So I think something is messing up just for open/edit the main scene.
Also I donĀ“t find any "show..." blocks, so I just lost...
I will test again home, but if anyone have this issue and can help... Thanks!
(Sorry for my english =|)

Please, can someone upload a screenshot of the Good Scene "Keyboard" Event  of the sample? Just to be sure nothing is missing....
Thanks again!

Hey, sorry about that. It was a bug in Stencyl (assuming that you downloaded it just recently). If you download now it should be fixed.

Thanks Justin,
It is still not well working to me...
I am using Stencyl 7974 (from few minutes ago) and I have installed your Dialog Extension 1.4 java 8 and xcode 6.1.1

In the sample game, on ipad simulator, clicking the enter key on the computer keyboard obviously does not produce any effect and clicking enter on the simulated screen works only the first time.
Also clicking v and other controls (in real world or clicking the screen) doesn't work. To me, only the X button is working.

I've tried testing it also on a Android device but it keeps sending to device...

But I can see the blocks now and in Flash it works fine...

Update: Same problem while sending my game to an Android device. My game had no problem yesterday on Android and it has not Dialog Extension enabled, so it's probably still a Stencyl's bug.

Is it possible to click the mouse rather than pressing V, C, and X?
