Based on the theme "You Only Get One", you take control of three separate robots who all have to share the same battery. Each robot has his own key traits, and they also each consume battery power at a different rate. Learning to balance all this power and ability will be key to your success in this puzzle platformer!

That's quite an interesting idea there
Replied so I can look at this thread when you update it. Good luck on the Jam

Sounds really interesting. I assume youre going for the jam. Good luck. Also, could you share how the robots move differently. Is it just that one can jump etc. or is it more complicated than that?

EARLY Prototype is up:
http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/23122
It's not totally obvious what all the traits of the robots are currently, but it shows basic functionality. For instance, each robot will eventually consume battery power at different rates. Take the floating robot: it can float and will have a tractor beam for moving objects, but it consumes battery power the fastest.
Things are coming along nicely. Max sent over a pic of one of the robots he finished and, shoot, does it look great.

Sounds like an awesome concept, so I guess you have to pass the battery between robots once it has finished it's task, look forward to seeing it in action.
Also fond memories of the movie by the same name from my childhood.

Yeah this idea reminds me of when I'd move batteries between my gameboy and tv remote.

Hahah, those were the days, I actually just ordered a classic game boy on e-bay last week, should get here any day now.
Keep up the good work, fire up some images if you get a chance!

A quick update via post. I have basic tractor beam functionality up and running for the floater robot. I also have a start sequence where you activate the starting robot instead of him just starting activated. That way you can look at the scene before you get moving and start consuming battery power.
I plan to update the prototype soon.

Prototype has been updated! Play around with the green one's tractor beam!
Also, you can now see Max Glockling Games' work on the bulldozer robot!

I assumed the robots would look like squares.
Good job so far.

Things are progressing nicely. The majority of robot functionality is complete except for some specific field object interactions. Things are going pretty smoothly!
Below is a screenshot of what is currently level 3 in the offline in-work version (never mind the programmer art). In this particular level you go to your bulldozer friend and swap the battery to him, and he drives over the spikes without penalty so he can push the switch across (using Z to start pushing). Then your jumping friend can press it and complete the level. Teamwork, people. Teamwork!

Just updated the prototype again. Still some quirks, but it includes all the robots now in the five levels (not including the last test level).
Let us know what you think.
