I will make a game using the unreal engine. It will have a race of enemy Locusts that live beneath the surface of the planet and attacks the remaining of humanity. A squad of special human soldiers will go down to destroy them, led by the player. I will call it, Gears of War, and make a lot of sequels and spin offs for it, and ultimately sell it off to Microsoft! Epic idea..  Bwahahaha :( :( :(

Well it's nearly day 2 and I didn't get much done so far and what I do have I don't like much, so most likely I'll stay out of the jam this time.

Going even more simplistic this time considering I haven't actually completed a Ludum Dare yet despite attempting 2.

Holy mother this looks similar to my idea! We must be long lost twins!

Heh. So similar that when I saw your earlier post on LD Shadow Dreamer, I thought it was letmethink and his game.

Although they may look very siimilar graphically, the mechanisms for winning are actually very different. In my game you have two different characters controlled with the same keys and you have to protect them both making it kind of a puzzle platformer, whereas Shadow Dreamer's relies on moving one character between the two dimensions.

I'll make sure to play and rate your game when I'm done myself! It'll certainly be fun :)
Actually, I'm only more convinced that we're twins, as the main mechanic in my previous game was to move two characters with the same keys :p (Although it has been done several times before).
Good luck!

Things didn't go as planned(as I imagine is to be expected in this kind of thing)(first two ideas crashed and burned), but I managed to produce a game I'm happy with, so-  yay! ...I'm going to take a nap now.

p.s. How'd all of your ludum dare-ing  go?

I was super happy with my game. Its not the best game in the world, but it is none too shabby for 48 hours :)

On the topic of LD games, how are you rating them? I was going to play my a bunch and then start scaling them against each other. Otherwise I am not sure what we are supposed to compare it to. Any thoughts.?

Anyone else still coding like a deranged, caffeinated monkey coder-person?
